The Perfect Point and Shoot Camera
I purchased the silver Nikon Coolpix S4300 after a little research. I was looking for a camera to replace a simple Olympus digital camera I received as a bonus through Scholastic Book Clubs. I wanted something similar, but more modern, as that camera was several years old when it finally died. I love that the Nikon has a large touch screen. That definitely makes it a little easier to find menu options. I have not read the directions that came along with the camera. I'm more of a, "Let's push this button and see what happens" type person! This is a very simple camera to use. The crispness of the photos is amazing. It far exceeds my old Olympus! I recently took a few photos at a local zoo. The fact that it took such wonderful, colorful, vivid, clear photos of the lizards inside their glass enclosures in a darkened room amazed me. My old camera would never do that. I purchased this camera for everyday use. I am a teacher and needed a simple, CHEAP camera to use at school and leave in my bag or purse for convenience. I think I found just that in the Nikon S4300. I will admit that I really was drawn to the red camera, but when it came down to it, price won out. The silver version was almost HALF the price of the others. After some comparison shopping, I committed to the silver because of the tremendous deal, just under $70! I could not find a camera with even half the qualify and value of this one for a similar price.

Great Nikon
I received my S4300 a little while ago and I am very impressed so far. Setup is easy, the touch screen is great and the build quality appears to be very good - a solid little camera. I took some indoor shots and they came out great so reasonably low light is not an issue. It's small but not too small to be able to take great pictures easily and carry in your pocket. I got the Case Logic UNZB202 carry case to protect it and it fits perfectly and is small enough to stick in your pocket without adding bulk. I have a Nikon DSLR and set reasonable expectations for a point-and-shoot digital. For the price and what you get - I think it's a wise purchase. I expect I will take many more pictures now that I have a good camera that is so portable.

and I wasted my time
After only 1 year owning this camera, I am going to buy another one since most of my pictures from the last year were ruined and blurry from this camera. I am so tired of reviewing my photos, only to see that they are all blurry, and I wasted my time. The outdoor pictures are decent, but there is no way to get a sharp looking picture indoors with this camera. I am very disappointed with the image quality. I don't think I even got one good photo of my new puppy that was blurry or fuzzy. So disappointing. I feel like I wasted my money.

Nikon Coolpix S4300 Delivers Quality Performance
I purchased the Nikon Coolpix S4300 because I previously used a Nikon Coolpix L6 model. I was completely satisfied with the previous model. The newer model has some major improvements that make this camera a very good choice. The best part of these Nikon Coolpix line of digital cameras is the battery life when compared to other cameras! These models perform much longer than most any other camera I have tried. The quality of the photos are very professional. Don't be fooled by the price ....this model works very well consistently just like the previous Nikon Coolpix that I had for nearly ten years. It is nice and compact. Amazon.com continuously selects the best models for nearly every item they sell. Another good reason to buy from Amazon.com is the competitive pricing and the lightning-fast delivery after the sale. I highly recommend this item to everyone who reads this testimonial. If you are in the market for a quality digital camera, I honestly believe that this model will perform to your highest expectations!

Blurry Images
I have been fighting with this camera for a year now. My images are constantly blurry. I have tried every setting offered. The view will be clear and as soon as I click it, the lens blurs as it snaps. There is no rhyme or reason to it. I think perhaps mine is defective, but I kept thinking it was a setting issue. I don't live in the US, so easy return was not an option. I just kept hoping I'd figure it out. It is generally easy to operate and has several functions. But, it takes terrible pictures. And, no, it is not my unsteady hand. I get great pictures with the cheap camera i bought my daughter at the same time I bought this. If you are looking to buy a point and shoot, buy one at a store over the counter from a person who can demonstrate it. Then takes lots of pics in those first days and, if you get bad ones, don't assume it is a setting.

Great Little Pocket Camera !
For someone who wants to carry a camera in their pocket so they can catch photos on the fly, this is a great little pocket camera. It has good clarity and does great macro shots which is what I use it for. It can also take pictures in low light without the flash and they come out amazingly clear. It is easy to use, easy to understand and very convenient. Can't go wrong for a small camera and the price is nice as well. I would suggest an extra battery so you can have a spare for long days of shooting because you have to charge the battery while in the camera and that puts you out of commission for a while. You need to be able to charge at night when you are not using the camera.

This camera came defective. No matter what battery is out in the camera says battery exhausted. I contacted them and they said I have to pay to send it back even though they sent me a damaged item. I have been trying to reach out to them for 4 days now and they are ignoring me. Awful customer service.
