I recently installed the Gutter Downspout Extensions from NAACOO, and I'm impressed with the results. These extensions have done a fantastic job of directing water away from my house's foundation, which was a growing concern for me. The installation was straightforward, and I appreciated not having to dig deep to set them up. The flexibility of the pipe extension made it easy to position them exactly where needed, extending up to 8.2 feet. This length is more than sufficient to ensure the water is channeled far from the house, providing peace of mind during heavy rainfalls. The catch basin design is particularly effective, catching and redirecting water efficiently. One thing to note, though, is that they can be a bit tricky to secure in place initially. Once set up, though, they stay put and perform exceptionally well. As someone who enjoys DIY projects, I found these downspout extensions to be a practical and efficient solution for managing rainwater and protecting my home's foundation. They are durable and have become an essential part of my home's rainwater management system.

I will start with the only issue that I have with these; they are too lightweight. So you should also buy something to anchor them down with. That sounds like it would be easy to figure out but that U-shaped metal that you are thinking about is trickier to find, than you think. So what you are going to look up are "wind stakes" that have a 2" width between each part of the U. I ended up green rebar trampoline wind stakes. In some regions that may seem like overkill but in a place like coastal Connecticut, where we are hit by tropical storm and hurricane winds, it is probably worth getting heavy duty anchors for such a light weight, above ground drainage unit. I use 2 stakes per unit. As far as how they work.. they work fantastic! I hadn't been watching the news so I didn't realize that the day after I set these up that we were going to be hit by a storm with high winds and dropped 5" of rain over just 18 hours. There would always be some flooding in my cellar from a storm like this but this is the first time that there has been no water coming in. None! All that I can think is that it is far more efficient than traditional metal gutter extensions and that maybe there was a significant amount of water leaking through by the elbow connectors. I am actually moving but these above ground units were a cheap way for me to test basin drainage, which I will definitely be putting in at my new house. But if that isn't doable in my initial budget, then I know that I can come back for more of these at this low cost, until in ground basin drainage is in my budget.

works well. assembling was a pain in ass because when you screw the hose on it scrunches together to rather than an attach and the hose twists as you turn further making it difficult to attach. what should take 30 seconds took 15 minutes and a lot of swearing in frustration. this should have been painless

I purchased this for my one gutter to prevent the ground from flooding when it rains. Plus, I purchased the extension as well because I needed 12 feet of hose to where I need the water to drain, this item comes with an 8 feet drain hose. I would say at first I had a hard time attaching the hose to the catch basin but the trick is to extend the hose all the way with your hands then use pliers to extend to the last ripple and you will see on the edge of the end of the hose will be part of the edge the sticks out this is what you need to see before attaching the hose to the catch basin or you won't be able to attach the hose, till you get frustrated and figure you need to return but I given you the trick to attach that doesn't tell you on the instructions but otherwise on the last storm it works for my purpose.
