Target Your Maths Year 5 Paperback – 3 Nov. 2014

I have been using these books for over 5 years and loved the way that children are able to set their own level of challenge depending on how confident they felt in each topic. The layout is clear and not patronising. Having having each block of questions in light coloured boxes helps those who find reading black on white confusing. The colour is not distracting and allows all children to be able to read and comprehend word problems more easily. The improvement of the current series is that the topics are now grouped together and not spread out over the different Blocks that the previous National Curriculum demanded making it much easier to find the content. I use these to teach from and also as a homework resource. Do get the answer book though.

The product arrived promptly. I was glad to see that it came in an envelope rather than lots of unnecessary packaging. The answer booklet will save so much time this year. Very happy with my purchase.

This is the best maths series of books for primary age I’ve come across in over twenty years of teaching. Well differentiated activities on every page, fits in with the new curriculum and PLENTY of questions for each learning objective. MAKE SURE TOU BUY THE ACCOMPANYING ANSWER BOOKLET TO SAVE HOURS OF TIME WHEN MARKING.

Great for teaching fluency, differentiatied, good level of challenge. Doesn't include problem solving or reasoning. Don't forget to buy the answer book!

Great for helping students mark their own work

These books are a great way to differentiate without spending hours creating worksheets. The work is well pitched, clear and matches new curriculum objectives well. Questions are enriched with problem solving to deepen and apply understanding. As an SLE for maths, I recommend this range in schools all the time. Honestly? This is the only maths text book range a KS2 classroom should need.
