surpsrisingly effective !!
For as cheaply made as this pool cover is, it works really well - we are done spending 5 - $600 a year for the expensive covers that don't last in the desert summers more than 1 - 2 years ... this pool cover has made the pool much warmer and it's super light and easy to deal with - it has already ripped but that's to be expected with something so thin - we will be buying this cover again

Deteriorated quickly BUT company stood behind it
Short version: cover was terrible but company credited me toward the thicker/better one. Long version: I'd always bought the 1200 series and tried to squeeze a second season out of it. This year, I decided to just spend a little less and just get one season (because I was usually getting blue flaking off the cover and into the pool by the end of the life of the other); it would be more expensive in the long run, but easier (I figured). When the 800 series came, I was surprised at how much thinner and flimsier it felt. It was actually hard to get on the pool, behaving like Saran Wrap. Rolling it up to uncover the pool for use was really hard... just too flimsy. Still, I figured, it's preventing evaporation and warming the pool just as effectively. But after only 7 weeks, it was sinking; virtually all of the bubbles had cracked. It really behaved like Saran Wrap, and it was impossible to roll it up. It could not be left on the pool; it was 1-2 feet under the surface in several places. To the company's credit, I sent in pictures and within two hours had a response that I could either get a free replacement or pay up the difference to the 1200 series. I paid up the difference. Soooo...save yourself the trouble and get the 1200 (or better) series right of the bat. The 800 series simply did not hold up, but credit the company for making it right.

Really Heats up Pool
This is my 2nd Pool Solar cover. It lasted 5 years and started to fall apart. So I bought another one. Between the sun and the chlorine of the pool, it takes a beating. I also have the roll up device for this cover. You simply take the solar cover and place on top of your pool (bubbles down) and cut it to the shape of your pool so it lies directly on the water. I have the one end attached to my roll up device and it's so each to roll it up and pull it back out. I usually put it away with tarps and bungee cords for the winter to keep it nice. I'll put my new one together spring of 2024. It really makes your swimming season longer. I live in Concord, CA so it gets pretty hot here. 90s and 100s all summer. With the solar cover on my pool is like a bath tub...89 to 96 degrees.

Thin plastic cover
While the coverage is good and the bubbles seem ok, the overall material feels thinner than what we had before. In addition to likely not lasting as long as previous, this cover doesn’t stay in place when the jets are on or the wind picks up. At $117, I expected better.

Okay if you use it a few times but not thick enough
It was okay quality, it did rip easily, used it couple times then gave it away to my neighbor, won’t buy another

Two Year Review
As of Sep 2019 I have had this 8mil cover for 1 month shy of 2yrs (will be 2 yrs in Oct). Incredibly pleased with it. it has held up very well in the Fl sun and I will now purchase another one. Yes it has flaked a bit in the last 4-5 months, I would say less than 50 bubbles have flaked off and frankly I find it no big deal as they just go into the skimmer and then I retrieve them. If you have a heated pool this thing works excellent to trap the heat and keep it in the water instead of dissipating into the air. On average during Florida winters I am losing only a cpl degrees during the overnight hrs when using this as compared to about 10 degrees without it. This of course allows my pool heater to run less and thus save significantly on electricity costs. And during the rest of the year it allows my pool to coast at a comfortable 88 degrees-ish without losing any temp during overnight hours Again, this thing has been awesome!!!

Destroyed after 3 months of use
I bought this pool solar cover and received it on the first day of June. Delivery was quick as expected, the cover seemed new when opened. It was easy enough to cut to the shape of my pool despite being a very large cover. It raised the temperature of the pool about 8 degrees above normal. Our pool is in a windy location, but the cover, once cut to the shape, was not moved by the wind. The cover reduced the evaporation nicely. I only needed to refill the pool half as often. When we first started using the cover, we could immediately see that the material was very thin and flimsy. This made taking it off easy since it was light, but it could not withstand much use. Within a month there were holes and rips in the cover. Also, the bubbles in the cover started popping over time, despite the fact that we were gentle with the cover and the pool chemicals are correctly administered by a professional. By the end of month three there were no bubbles left on the cover. The cover now sits like a wet rag on top of the pool and sinks easily as water gets on top of it. In the photo, the white squares are the patches I put on the cover to keep it together. My pool professional laughed at my cover. He said for what I paid ($200) I should have gotten a much better cover. He said he will buy the cover next year and show me the difference. I think I will go that route with my next cover. He mostly faults the thinness of the material and how quickly it degraded when exposed to the chlorine. So, I would say that this is a one season cover at best.

I have purchase a 20'X40' solar blanket from NYRS in March 2020 and started using it from May to Sept 2020 and for a similar period in 2021. The solar blanket was winterized inside my garage at all time during the winter periods. I started seeing degradation in the product when installed this past May 2022 (see pictures) the blanket was basically "disintegrating" and "falling apart" in numerous places. I contacted the seller NYRS (which is not the manufacturer) and explained the situation, after a few very cordial back and forth between ourselves and providing them with supporting information, they have resolved this issue to my entire satisfaction and definitely stood behind the products they sell. I would not hesitate to buy again from NYRS. Unfortunately I can't say the same from the manufacturer Sun2Solar. I have owned numerous pools (3) and solar blankets over my lifetime (40 years) and I have never experienced such a quick deterioration problem on any previous blankets I have owned over such a short period of time, in all, I have used the Sun2Solar blanket less than 11 months from May 2020 to date (5 months 2020 / 5 months 2021 and 1 month 2022) . I certainly hope this is an isolated incident from the manufacturer Sun2Solar. Patrick. L
