Q: Does the extension bolt mount to the bottom of the lever plate, or the back?

if you zoom into the photo, there are 2 visible brass sections on the back. the first one is about 2inches down (on the back), There is a stopper at 3inches. Not extended, from the edge of the plate (where screws are), the rod is a little over 9.5 inches - extended is 10.5 inches
