cool for EDC or specialized small bolts
This thing is cool. I love tools - especially small ones that can fit into a small EDC pouch. These are lightweight and TINY! - but they are sturdy and the normal quality you would expect from VISE-GRIP. I didn't know what to expect with the shape of the head, but you can grab small bolts and screws really well with it. It also grabs anything round (tube, pipe etc) really well and maybe doesn't mar it as bad as a normal vise-grip. (or maybe just as bad. Not the right tool if you are worried about scratches). The 'wire-cutters' are a joke, as with most locking pliers with this feature. I suppose it could work in a ... pinch?

High Marks on Torque Test Channel well deserved!
The original Irwin 4-inch locking wrench that I ordered was missing a bit of chrome on the finish, so I returned it for this one and this one was perfect. I ordered the wrench based on testing from the Torque Test Channel, where it performed very well. I decided to get this wrench because it’s a lot less expensive to get one of these than it is to buy a set or even a single one of the regular flare nut wrenches that were comparable in their performance. I was able to loosen and tighten two flare nuts on a 2001 Toyota Camry and the wrench fit in there well. I was concerned because this wrench is a little meatier than a regular flare wrench, but I was able to get a good grip on the nuts and it didn’t strip or round the nuts on the brake lines. I don’t think it even marked them. The tool worked great and I’m super happy with it.

Size is 4 3/4" long
Item just arrived so cannot say anything pertaining to its functionality, but the length is 4 3/4" (around 12cm) long, just so people know the exact size of the item they're getting. It says 4" but that does not mean it's 4 inches long.

Great lil Tool
For undersized, rounded off, rust fused brake lines and bleeders, this little tool is usually my go to now. The only time it wasn't of use is on my rear drum bleeder valves, but that's not the tool's fault, there's just no good way to get on them since the wheel cylinder is basically sunk into the rear backing plate. But I still love this locking plier. In fact, I bought the 7LW and the 10LW to go with this 4LW so I now have the set. The Good: Irwin is a well known brand name with a reputation for quality tools, this 4LW is no exception. Feels sturdy in the hand, even for its small size. Crisp action on the locking mechanism. Hex key slot on end of knurled adjustment knob for further tightening. Good grip on rounded off nuts/bolts/fittings/bleeders. The Bad: Nothing to Report.

No More Anxiety About Rusted BRAKE LINES
I’m not a mechanic, but love working on my 66 classic car - some things like brake lines and flare nuts, are a total nightmare - usually I have to heat, KROIL blast, Vice grip, the entire fiasco for any rusted nuts, or bolts of any kind. This tool with a rubber mallet and no prep handled my rusty seized brake lines instantly. They are small, just need to put on gloves and give them some soft wacks with a mallet. Does the job so well, after literally hours of trying to remove with regular vice grips. If this doesn’t work, the bolt extraction kits with the impact driven claw should get it done. Having both is a must! Amazing product; must buy for your brake line repair kit!

BMW uses ridiculously soft and small (10-12mm) nuts. Nothing I had tried to date worked. Especially when they get rusty. Until I found this tool. I bought all tree sizes so I'm set for life. I've been using them for a couple of years now and they have not failed me once. The way the 3 faces grip the nut makes it virtually impossible to slip unless the nut is half rusted. And it leaves the nut undamaged. If you work on old car brake systems this tool will change your life.
