Mother Daughter Journal

My daughter and I have been really enjoying this journal. She is just 14, and I am 44. It has wide variety of things it asks you to fill out. I can never just write one thing, especially for favorites. lol. This will be something very special for her to keep and treasure. It has also been a good way to get to know each other on a deeper level.

My daughter just turned 12 so we’ve started entering the dreaded “mom’s aren’t cool” era 😑 I purchased this to give us a way to connect without having to necessarily “talk” about things. The pages are cute and have some really good prompts. I uploaded some random pages as I flipped through it. I also have one of these to start with my soon to be 14 year old son.

I included this journal in a gift basket for my Mom this Mother’s Day. Of all the items in that basket, this was—without a doubt—her favorite. My Mom and I have had our differences over the years, but we’ve remained close through each phase of life. I can confidently say that I’m learning more about my Mom through this creative and thoughtful journal than I ever have before. My Mom doesn’t typically enjoy writing, but this journal has really inspired her with a newfound confidence and a voice. It’s heartwarming for me to read her excited expressions and to really see her personality come alive in these pages. I’ve never seen her take so well to writing prompts. These prompts are playful, reminiscent, emotive, engaging, and renewing. A perfect blend of many sentiments. All in all, this joint journal effort has given my Mom & I a new form of appreciation for one another, and we aren’t even finished yet. I can’t wait to see what she writes next.
