As stated no, but it's one of if not the best sounding heads. You won't be disappointed!

Will this help my beginner drum set bass drum sound better or am i just doomed?

It will definitely make it sound much better. I always kinda thought all drum heads are the same and never wanted to spend the money on a better head, but this plays a lot better and gives any bass drum more low end thump. Pull the trigger!
