These are very good, especially if you mix them with other compost to make it go further. A tip though: the first time I soaked one of the bricks, I put far too much water in the bucket and ended up with a really sludgy mess. I found it much better to put the brick in a couple of litres of water and leave it overnight, then see if it needed a bit more. If the whole brick has fluffed up and is nice and friable, it is ok to use, but if you find parts of the brick are still solid, then remove the loose fibre into another bucket and add more water to the solid piece/s. As it soaks, the brick will separate into layers and sometimes the middle ones do not soak up the water, but I found it better to re-soak than to try to get the excess water out if you have put too much in!

I order these all the time for my tortoises, they don’t come individually wrapped though so you have to be sure to store them in a dry area. Easy to use and great value for money especially when you have as many tortoises as me 😉

Classic you get what you pay for product really. Not to say this is bad...its not BUT i could tell it wasnt as high a quality as some I had had in the past from another brand. Cost per block is less but it rehydrates just as well but its quite obvious how dusty this brand was in comparison to the other brand which brings me to my main point - storage. The blocks come non wrapped in a big cardboard box. This wont be an issue if you have somewhere dry to store them where theres no chance of mice deciding to use it as bedding material but my shed isnt that big, is outside so subject to fluctuations in humidity and i guess could be easily accessed by mice if they wanted to so as they were non individually wrapped dusty blocks all dumped into a big box it meant the box lived in my living room for months getting in the way. Price as I said is good but unless you have somewhere safe and dry to store them or are doing a big project to use them all up quickly I would suggest looking into getting the individually wrapped blocks as they store better.

Good coco, drains well,works well with sumo samuari products,cana and bloombastic. best off to use 10 litre bucket drop 3 bricks in leave 20 minutes and done. also works well if add rhizotonic to water adds a good feed to the mix as a starter booster

We bought our third case of 20 bricks last October. This is an annual purchase for our composting toilet. The prior two boxes made twice the quantity so something has changed in these bricks and I do not know what. They have changed the packaging too. We have tried varying the volume of water but had not been able to work out what has happened and as a result of the smaller quantity produced, they are now nearly twice as expensive.

Great product at a great price and swift delivery, makes lovely coir compost when you add the water and it expands, easy to use coir compost when mixed with pearlite for my carniverous plants

These work well for me as they are easy to store and move. I can hydrate a brick as and when I need some compost and dont have to carry heavy dirty bags around. Renewable resource and retain water well which I find very helpful with pots.

Good value. Use to make compost. Still have loads left as they go a long way.
