Helped locate an AC leak
I have a WRX from 2003 that recently developed one heck of a leak in the AC system, I should say all the refrigerant went to parts unknown, and unknown to me when I went to turn the AC on during the first hot day of the year and got a face full of hot air. Anyway, I needed to find the leak and while you can get bottles of refrigerant from parts stores with AC dye in it, they all come with stop leak (at least the ones I could find) and I don't like to put anything like that in my car, I worry about clogging the system. So this little fellow was my answer. I put the dye in it, injected it into the car with a bit a refrigerant and there was the leak, easy as you please. Most people with a Subaru with any age on it could guess it was from a faulty O-ring on top of the compressor, and you'd be right. This little tool is a wonderful addition to my AC tools and helped save me at least $70 on a diagnosis charge from a mechanic.

Great Help For An Odd Job
Modern HVAC systems can be very tricky and temperamental. In my many years servicing systems, I can tell you that some will lose performance if over or under charged by as little as a few ounces. But, any system will fail eventually if it is low on oil, so this is a very handy tool for adding a few ounces to boost the oil level especially if some visible leakage has occurred. Used improperly, it can accidentally inject air along with the oil, so be sure you know what you are doing, as air in an AC system will wreak havoc. The tool is well made considering its very reasonable price and comes with a few R-134a connectors to adapt it to the lines of your system. Make sure you are adding the correct oil as R-134a systems can use a variety of grades and types depending on the car’s make and model. This tool allows adding oil or leak dye to a charged system, avoiding the need for having the evacuate / recycle / recharge machine that is standard for auto shops. Hence, it is aimed towards the home mechanic. As such, it works great for the DIY mechanic who would be unable to add oil or dye without it.

The easy way to get the oil in!
A simple tool that makes the shade tree or professional mechanics job so much easier. If you have ever tried to pour the tiny little oil bottles that came with your new A/C compressor into the tiny ac lines then you will love this tool. The makes the pain in the neck job a piece of cake. Just fill the injector body with the oil and dye, attach to to A/C system and inline with your freon to charge it. Now in one step, when you charge the system, the oil and dye will be injected right along with it. That's it, charged and filled in one. A great addition to my toolset.I like that it doesn't have a permanently mounted A/C line adapter, while it includes a R134 in the kit, the threaded end will allow you to fit your own adapter for other freon types that are used in older cars, home and appliance systems.

Great for injecting dyes and compressor oils.
My son the HVAC tech evaluated this tool.A 2oz oil injector is just the right size for most automotive applications as most oil charges are in multiples of two.The machining is accurately but not outstanding. It's a shadetree caliber tool but it it doesn't leak and has adequate knurling to get a good grip but could be aggressive. I am sure with time, it will get enough oil on it that a set of channel locks may be needed to get it open as the fine knurling may not be adequate. The valve is ok but the lever is plastic and will probably break in a few years, so plan accordingly. If you evaluate this as a 30 dollar tool, it's a very good tool for the money.

EXTEND THE LIFE OF YOUR AC COMPRESSOR
You can use this tool to add oil to your air conditioner unit. This is mostly used by HVAC professionals. A week end mechanic can find freon with oil to recharge their system. The system should have adequate oill fill when installed and the only way of loosing oil is through a leak... SO... if you need oil then you need freon too. So you buy freon with an oil and dye charge. The dye is used to find the leak. If you have an old system you could possibly extend the life of the system by introducing a partial charge of fresh oil. This tool allows you to add oil without discharging the system. Given the cost of freon this could save you some money. ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU USE THE PROPER OIL WHEN USING THIS TOOL!!

AC oil injector
I ordered this because I just finished replacing the air compressor on my truck and couple weeks after one of the hoses failed, and needed to be replaced. That said, I didn't want to have to remove the compressor and everything that goes with it, just to refill it with oil, so this solves the problem. This arrived as described and on time. It's made to work with R134A which is the standard freon. It has a quick connect coupler which I especially like making it easy to use.Overall the quality of the product exceeded my expectations and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, especially to cut time off HVAC work.

Great for at home mechanics
This is great for mechanics who want to work at home on their own vehicles. Made with quality materials and seals so it doesn't leak. Very easy to use if you know how to do a/c work. Definetly recommend buying this item
