Q: Has anybody tried to type with the brace on? Have you found it not too bulky?

It depends on which is your dominant hand. I have deQuervain's in both wrists and find no problem with the splint on my left (non-dominant hand), but it is nearly impossible on my right to hit the space bar. I type as a profession (medical writer), an am on a computer 8-9 hours a day (and am typing with a brace on my left now). That said, these braces make you hold your hands in the proper ergonomic position, so if you have huge difficulties typing with them (save for the space bar), you probably aren't holding your hands appropriately in the first place. Over the years (nearly 5 for me now), I have actually altered my typing stance from wearing these braces, and saw a reduction in the deQuervain's in my right (dominant) hand. Left is still bad (and has had surgery), but that appears to be more due to my particular physiology.

Q: I measured and I am right at the 7.5" should I get the medium- the 7.5" is at the edge.. or should I get the large and worry it will be loose?

My wrist is 6.75 and it fits perfectly. The securing straps allow me to tighten it. You certainly don't want it to be loose.. that's the whole idea... i'd go with the medium... and make sure the thumb strap is tight... that's the important part of keeping the thumb from moving around... as the tendons from the wrist to the thumb is what's aggravated. It's a great price and a great product

Q: I'm right on the size border between M and L. Any suggestions as to whether to go bigger or smaller? I've never worn a wrist brace. Thanks!

I would go smaller. They seem to expand pretty well but if the smallest size you can make the large is right at your size it might be too loose.

Q: W hat to do with the ends of the long straps? they stick out like a bird's wing

I cut them short so they can fit right.
