Okay, so I know this is a gait belt, to help lift someone who is a fall risk. But my application is a lot different. I ride my Harley Davidson all over and I have 3 kids who love to go on rides with me. However they needed a little something extra to hold onto when we get up to higher speeds, riding in the canyons and any other time they want to hold on. That is when I found this idea. I wear this when they are riding with me, the quality of the materials is very high, the stitching is strong and comfort is good to.I figure if it is strong enough to be used to help lift an adult when they fall, it is perfect for my children to hold onto while on a motorcycle ride. The other plus is that there are different positioned handles on this so they can choose what is most comfortable for them. They like the fact that their arms don't get so tired by holding up so high on my shoulders the whole time.

This was recommended by a friend and truly arrived just when I was desperate for help, literally. I'm in my 70's, hubby in 80's, by ourselves. He recently came home from the hospital and could barely walk. Maybe TMI, but it was approaching 10 pm. He couldn't, even with me using all my strength, get off the commode. I checked the front door and the package arrived. Tore open the packaging. Simple to figure out how to use. This one just goes around the middle with seven potential lift loops. Fastens like a child's high chair buckle, only stronger. So glad it didn't have to go around his legs or under him. Got it around him. I was able to help lift him so he could stand up, accompany him to the nearby bed. For less than $20, this is an outstanding value. I obviously highly recommend it!

I love this belt, I am a caretaker who struggles to assist clients with a regular gait belt. I love how sturdy and comfortable this gait belt is for both caregiver and the person being assisted with it.I do wish it tightened more, on smaller people it just doesn't fit snug and winds up riding up making it a challenge to assist the person wearing it. Overall though it is a great gait belt and I would recommend it for anyone who struggles to use a regular belt. The grips on this made me feel I and a better grip and more control while assisting.

Zero stars, if itwere available. This looks like a suitable product, but it will take Hercules to open the clasp. Therefore, it's of no use and money just thrown out the door. Don't buy this product unless you havethis guy Hercules in the neighborhood who can help open it.

The handles are great to use. Not sure if I would keep this on the person like I would a normal gait belt because the release clip is very hard and uncomfortable on the back while sitting. I did not use this on my person that needed help lifting due to the extremely hard to press release pincher connector. I only used it on me so they could grab. I'm scared to put it on them and not be able to get it off. I could at least crawl out of it if I couldn't depress the clip. Our Occupational Therapist couldn't get the clip released. So I don't recommend this to anyone with sore hands or even slightly weak hands.
