Sharp, well made, comes with a rubber protector and works fine

Just received this tool. The shaft aligns well with the housing reducing any chance of slop during tool set up / adjustment. Locking screw easy to use, turn and requires little tightening to hold the shapt in position. Dimensional marking on the shaft are difficult but not impossible to read being a dark grey against a "silver" shaft. I haven't used the tool yet so I cannot comment on the sharpness of the knives. Even if slightly dull, these can be sharpened. I believe this to be a sound tool for the money.

This appears to be a decent marking gauge for the price, couple observations:+ Solid parts - all machined from single pieces, no glue joints+ Flats do prevent rolling away+ Good tolerances - no slop, easy movement on the thumbscrew, beam fully retracts to protect the cutting edge. nice machiningMinor quibbles:- IMPERIAL ONLY: despite answer above, the one I received had no metric markings- Flange surface is on the small sideI would also note that the disc is not a wheel, as it does not rotate at all...but I think this is probably a slop-avoidance choice and likely has no impact on scoring ability (or might even help...I thought the last one i had was able to spin, but I wouldn't swear on it)Anyway perfectly adequate and I kinda liked the small size, but did want the metric markings and am disappointed to find them missing after asking about it

Easy to lock w/ one hand, the etched scale is accurate and the cutter is bigger than my previous marking gauge.

This looks to be a good marking gauge for the money. Tight tolerances, sharp and spare blades. Anti roll. Quality materials.Not sure why no one has tried it yet. I weigh pros and cons of everything before I purchase on Amazon and this met my criteria. Not disappointed.

Using the tool to mark dovetails and the corresponding pins it is essential to be able to make crisp and precise cuts to use as a start point for the saw blade

Marking guage arrived on time and works fine.

This is a nice marking gauge. The cutting wheel is fine and doesn't leave a large bevel bruise like my other cheaper one that I bought from another company. I have had this now for over a year, and there is no tarnish build up on the steel - still looks new.
