Red KapMen's Double Knee No-Scratch Shop Pants

Best Mechanic Pants on the Market
I bought these pants based upon other reviews and I am very glad I did. These are super well made and have lots of custom touches that make these superior to other brands of work pants. I like the cargo pockets just the way they are, though a few disagree. My moto phone which is big, fits just fine. I like the covered button and the belt loops are super strongly attached. The pockets are the perfect length as opposed to many pants where they are too short or too long. And the pockets are nicely reinforced. There is no watch pocket but that's ok. There is a gusset in the crotch area that runs down both sides to provide extra room to move and croutch down. The fabric blend is about half cotton and half poly with 4 percent spandex for extra flex. The material is a nice weight for all seasons and I think the blend will be comfortable and should last a long long time and wear like iron. My only criticisms ( and they are minor) is the end of the pant legs is a little big and the inseam measurement seems a bit long. Not a big deal and when I get time, I plan to correct both details. Overall though I am well pleased. I always thought there must be a pants aimed at a mechanic/shop guy and these fit that need perfectly well. Great value too. My waist is in between so I ordered just above and just below. The pants that were just below my actual size fit very well. So if you measure between 34 and 36 in various jeans for example, try the 34 first. Great pants.

Impeccable Pants
I work at Discount Tire. I’m often on my knees or squatting, as well as lifting tires and wheels that rub against my pants while lifting. Everything about these pants is incredible. Before purchasing only one pair of these, I was wearing every other brand and style. Dickies, Wrangler, Carharrt, you name it, in just about every style they had. Double layered knees, thick and thin, built for this and built for that, but none of them have ever held up, especially in the knees. I’ve ripped through plenty of pants in the knees while working. My one pair of these Red Kap pants have made me nearly a year without wearing down almost at all. I have worked 20-30 hours a week every week for a year, and I wear these every day that I work. They are thin enough to keep you cool on hot and humid 90° F days, and thick enough to keep you warm on cool 50° F days. They don’t really trap the many smells that accompany working in a tire shop, and if they do, it comes out with basic detergent. They are machine wash and dryable, and never come out shrunk or feeling any different than when they went in. They run slightly large in the waist, but nothing a belt can’t fix. And there’s nothing wrong with some wiggle room doing what I do. The pockets are great and sturdy, they hold what I need and then some. The front pockets are very large, holding a Zebra scanner easily. The belt loops are thick and well stitched.

VERY, VERY GOOD
Having worn these pants for a few months now here's some things I've learned. They wear pretty good although the one knee has a small rip due to briars. Other things are: the "button" for the waist is a bit tough to operate if you have arthritic hands/fingers being that it's "hidden" (not out in the open). And, the hind/hip pockets are almost too small to fit my hands into and are really too small to put much in to carry there, being they're not deep enough to keep things in securely. The left "thigh pocket", having a flap over it, is good but the right "thigh pocket" not having a flap doesn't tend to keep items inside it when you're active. I'm still up-in-the-air about whether I would buy these pants again. One thing I really appreciate about these trousers is the upper front pockets... they seem pretty tough (wear resistant) and are just deep enough and the bottoms of them are reinforced with an extra layer of material. These pants wear LOADS better than duluth's fire hose pants. I bought a second pair of these Red Kaps. If they modify the hip pockets and the right side-leg pockets I'll probably buy a few more pairs.

Good value and quality
I bought these for gardening as I have some balance issues and kneel or sit to do weeding and such and wanted something with a reinforced knee and loose fit. I ordered 38 x 34 and the fit was perfect and loose enough to get up and down without any binding. I do have thin legs. They are holding up well and no shrinkage when washed. I ordered a second pair after I had tried them for a couple of weeks. I saw one review indicating the “hidden” waist button was awkward but I have found it easier than normal jeans button.

Really comfortable pants with a great fit and the fabric seems strong
I've only worn these two days in the shop, but so far I'm impressed with them. They are comfortable, have a great fit, and aren't too thin nor thick of a fabric. The double knees are still flexible enough to be comfortable, unlike some pants with double knees.I like the pockets, with the left cargo pocket having a flap to secure items, and the right-hand cargo pockets are left open to hold tools, pen, etc. The pockets on these pants seem well thought out. Will update when anything changes and to inform how long they last for me. My last pair of blue jeans ripped out in the thigh above the knee after only 2 to 3 months, but metal fabrication work is hard on my clothes.Edit: After some time, the buttonhole stitching has come undone. Now it's just a slit in the fabric and most of the threads have been pulled out and/or cut off. They still work but it's kind of a pain to button or unbutton the pants. Due to how they are made, it seems impossible to have someone else sew it back up properly.
