Fairly good novel
Fairly good novel, although the end feels very rushed and a bit unfinished

Not terrible
This was a decent werewolf story. Mysteriously and very gruesome members of a research party, who went to India to investigate wolf killings, are all being killed. All but one. Two detectives are on the case and each body discovery is worse than the last. This wasn't a scary book to me, just a story. Also the author enjoyed the use of many different descriptive words. Using the Kindle I had to look up many of the words that I don't hear in everyday conversation. Due to the word play I wasn't very impressed with the book. It just felt like the author was trying to snaz it up.For all werewolf lovers, this is a must read, but not a re-read or keeper.

A Real Thriller
My complaints about this book are: I wish it was longer. Some of the descriptive adjectives were excessive. Cerulean blue eyes? Give me a break. The author does not know the irregular past tense of some verbs. I am a stickler for correct English. And last, but not least, the formatting was not checked for line and heading. The story is what you would expect, a werewolf is on the loose. However, the identity of the monster and how it became such a creature is surprising. I do not want ruin the story for readers so I will not describe the action, but characters are well developed and sympathetic. If you like horror stories, you will like this. Enjoy!

solid
A quick and highly entertaining read. The book deviates from the tradition warewolf stories of the lame silver bullets or the emo love stories that often times ruins classic horror stories. The ending has a surprising twist that highlights that deviance. Garrity beautifully details detectives Fischer and Nadeau characters along with their struggles to identify the perp. He also describes with pulchritudinous detail the death scenes that paints the horror of the scene, or if you are a funny person, the humor. Although the detective's dialogue is banal, it is hilarious at the same time. I will tell you what after reading this novel, Boston's night life truly did get...a little bit hairier. Hope there is a part two.

Computers are good, but they will mess up a good story ...
Same problem with not having someone proofread the story before release. Computers are good, but they will mess up a good story with the wrong words in an otherwise great tale. I'm seeing this fairly often in the electronic book. There seems to be less quality control than for an actual book edition. Thanks..

Highly Entertaining
In the same vein as Steven King, a light and easy read. It was very difficult to put this book down. From the detailed characterizations, particularly of detectives Fischer and Nadeau, to the accurate descriptions of Boston landmarks, it is a lot of fun. The suspense builds throughout the book and the author knows just when to either keep you hanging or bring the gruesome scenes to life.. er, death. If mayhem and mystery interest you, then you will really like this. An excellent first novel.

Very good and different storyline.
If you are a fan of horror get this book it was gory, and scary. The main story line is a Detective vs a horrific werewolf with a vendetta against his former associates. Truly a book of good vs evil. ..... Loved it.!!

Easy read
This book was much better than I expected! It was a quick and easy read and left me wanting more (in a good way). I very much liked the way the writer wrote the story. It made it an easy read. Great story line and very detailed without boring you. Looking forward to more stories by this author.

Good start, very poor finish.
This book actually has a pretty interesting set up behind it. The opening chapter set in India was creepy, and the first few murders were genuinely well written, scary and tense, especialy the scene in the parking garage. Then it all seemed to go wrong. I don't know why the author suddenly felt the need to either fall back on seemingly constantly using a thesaurus as the writing was fine up to a point. The werewolf at one point is described as the beast, the fiend, the hunter, the marauder, the ogre and the assailant, all in the space of a single paragraph. He then makes some really poor decisions in his choice of verbs and adjectives. When you ask someone something in normal conversation, you dont "interrogate" them, unless you're in the process of waterboardng them. And using the term "he shot back" four times in the space of a single two way conversation gets really annoying to read. A lot of the characters "boom" when they speak as well.Actually I struggled to finish the book as it just gets silly towards the end. Apparently shooting a werewolf does no damage, but a good kick in the nuts will save the day in a tight spot. Also thought the whole who-dunnit theme was a bit overdone and needlessly complicated, especially when one considers the overall motive and outcome. The characters just became cliched and annoying, and the ending felt like the author himself got fed up or ran out of ideas and just wound the story up in the quickest way he could.Sorry Tim, but this was a wasted opportunity.
