Discovering that I could update my machine to accommodate the two different sized hoops included in this pack provided me with more ways to use the embroidery software I have and the ability to use designs I had previously avoided because I find it far too time consuming to connect designs by re-hooping. The instructions were easy to follow (although as I'm a Mac user I was thrown a little by some Windows terminology). Nonetheless, I easily upgraded and was using the new hoops right away.

I bought this upgrade kit for my Innovis V5. I was a bit reluctant as my machine came with a hoop almost the same size as the one in this packaging (2cm difference in width). However I really wanted the other 20x20 hoop, and the software upgrade of two lines of lettering. I am a Mac user, and this caused a problem. what is NOT written on the box is that the included software can ONLY be activated through a windows PC. I called Brother and they talked me through activating the software straight in the machine. You cannot do this on your own, because they need to provide a nummerical key derived from the cd you bought and your machines serial number. NONE of this info is in the book! weirdly enough - all it does is unlock software already on the machine. NO download was necessary - the embroidery files, the return key for lettering and the bigger hoop were all already ON the machine - they just needed activating. I'm not convinced yet it was worth the money, but it is the only way to get this software upgrade.

I have the. V3 I love this upgrade ..I love the fact that I can write a poem no effort ...not having to do a line at a time ...I also find the 8x8 hoop I use a lot ...
