The Muppet Christmas Carol [DVD]

It's not just a great Christmas movie, it's a great movie full stop! We watch this every Christmas, and for the price it's on sale, we now definitely have it for good. Enough worrying about whether it won't be shown on TV or only available on disney+, I have the DVD and need fret not! You don't need to be a muppets fan to enjoy this movie. They combine so well with Michael Caine (the only human in the village), to make his a memorable, touching and warm viewing pleasure - like a welcoming winter fire in the depths of winter. Caine's performance is excellent. Based on the Dickens novel, it's a story about a 'scrooge' who has his eyes opened to what he has become, and how redemption is possible, even if you've really become a horrible person. There's hope for us all! Some ghosts may be a little scary for younger children, so I'd recommend this for 5+. Enjoy, it's impossible not to! And Happy Christmas, one and all!

I know this will be shown somewhere on the tv schedules around the christmas season but i had not seen it before and it was at such a low price, snapped it up. A Muppet re-telling of the classic Christmas Carol features Michael Caine as Scrooge, I enjoyed the version and it was well acted and thought out. Very satisfied with my purchase.

Excellent re-telling of Dickens story of the Christmas Carol using a mixture of the muppets and real people. Inspiring moral story about helping others.

If only the Muppets (the real ones) ran the world. It would be a much more fun-loving place. A timeless family classic

Brilliant dvd. Only drawback is it doesn’t have the song when the love is gone included. So when that scene is supposed to be in the movie I have to pace it and go into YouTube to watch it

We have an on-going family tradition that must always be obeyed - to watch The Muppet Christmas Carol every Christmas Eve just before bed! Everyone knows the story, but trust me you haven't lived unless you've had it told to you by Gonzo (playing Charles Dickens) and Rizzo the Rat. Loaded with some legendary songs that you can't help but sing along to, this film will get you firmly into the Christmas spirit, I guarantee it! Ok, so Michael Caine may be a little tone-deaf when it comes to singing but I can't sing either so I'm in no position to criticise haha! We had this on VHS before and so didn't get the extras (the bloopers are a must see) however a bit gutted that they cut down on one song and edited out another altogether - hence 4 stars for this DVD not the 5 stars that the film in its entirety really deserves. All-in-all I would strongly recommend this for all the family, old or young! :)

perfect movie for Christmas season and arrived right on time

Un petit bijou ! La réalisation est exceptionnelle. Un enchantement.

C'est un film parfait à regarder en famille pour être en plein dans l'ambiance de Noël ! Les enfants adorent, mais les adultes attachés aux valeurs de Noël et de la famille adoreront aussi ! Super scenario, excellents comédiens (les muppets sont tellement vivants qu'on oublie que c'est des marionnettes;)), décors magiques, chants entrainants, émotion et beaucoup d'humour !

This is one of my all-time favorite films. Unfortunately, this version is missing the "When Love is Gone" scene between Ebenezer and Belle. When the scene comes up, we simple pause the film and pull it up on YouTube.

Très contente qu'il y ai aussi la bande son en français ma fille a pu comprendre et apprécier le film.
