LEGOElves Elvendale School of Dragons Building Set (Multi-Colour)

Educated dragons are more polite and much better prepared for their future
We can’t have enough Lego Elves sets. Those pink and lavender elf structures are just too attractive. As such we got many of them, and both our daughter and her little brother are very pleased with it. I’m somewhat less impressed by the dragons in the series but the children disagree, as they play with these quite extensively. This set only includes a baby dragon Miku. But the set is great and of particular interest as this is the school where the dragons are educated by Tidus Stormsurfer. What makes this set great is the zip line that is attached to the top of the tree from which baby dragon can slide to the bottom, a very neat functionality that makes this one of the best Elves sets in my view.Like the other Elves sets there is a lot of detail and colourful decoration. And the school comes with blackboard as well and the obvious cookie shooter - no class room is complete without that.It didn’t take our children much effort to complete the construction and assembly of the 230- piece set. I only had to assist with attaching the zip line during their 45 minute to 1 hour construction phase. You can be assured that the instructions are very clear, as is always the case with Lego sets. And the children greatly enjoyed playing with the set afterward as the completed set looks great, slightly more blue that pink as in the other Elves sets. The added attraction is that everything is completely compatible with other Elves sets or any other Lego product. .To wrap it up; this is one of the best Elves sets, and one that stands out given the colour scheme and theme. All comes in the expected great Lego-quality.Too bad that the Elves line seems to be discontinued, for now, and that sets are getting scarce through regular channels. With a little imagination the line could have been taken much further.

Lego Elves 41173: Elvendale School of Dragons
I bought this set back in April this year but have only just reviewed it now as I am packing it away to make room for the 2017 sets which will be coming out soon. This is one of the smaller Lego Elves sets which fits in perfectly with the rest of the range or it can be built and played with as a small stand-alone set. This set has just been retired by Lego in the last week or so but when I purchased it the main retail price was £17.99 just in case anyone is reading this after the set has finished and is wondering what it originally retailed for.The set is small but packs a lot in and I have measured that it is approx 16cm wide by 9.5cm deep by 12.5cm tall at the tallest point. The Elvendale School of Dragons is a nice easy build and the instructions (as always with Lego) are really easy to follow and are over 1 instruction booklet. The build itself is spread out over 2 construction bags and it comes with stickers to adhere, the runner pole for the dragon zip line and push-out pendant flags. The set comes with a Tidus Stormsurfer figure and a baby dragon called Miku who we first met in the Aira's Pegasus Sleigh set last year. Miku is not one of the element baby dragons that Emily and the Elves are trying to save from Ragana in these latest sets and therefore is a 'normal' dragon. The build is nice and simple and took me less than an hour to do even with help from my little ones. The set is a lot smaller than the on-screen version of the school which features in the mini-series that was shown on television earlier this year and which we have recorded and is absolutely not allowed to be deleted (my children love the Elves mini series) but it is still a nice set. On the ground floor there is a little hiding/sleeping part behind a leaf for Miku, desk for Tidus with mug, stream, postal area, school bell and mushroom seats for the baby dragons to sit on. There are little climbing points up the tree for Miku which lead to a little walkway complete with dragon footprints and then a zip line for Miku to take off from. There is also a biscuit box on the top level and biscuit shooter crossbow which really does shoot the biscuits out so a little care need to be taken if the set is being played with by little ones under the recommended age.The zip line really does work and shoot Miku down it and this is a lovely small set even complete with a chalkboard, chalk and duster.

Fantastic Lego set
Fantastic Lego set. The pieces are just fabulous either on their own or together as a bigger set. My 10 year old daughter loves them and can build them herself.
