This gate is perfect. It’s very sturdy! It locks in a tight fashion so the baby can’t crawl under it. Very easy to use and install. The retractability is fantastic. It looks nice in our living room. We have a large walkthrough and it still has room should we need it to open more. I would recommend this to anyone needing a gate animals or infants.

Editing after having installed for just over a month: it is much easier to use one handed after getting used to it. It still doesn't always retract completely but that's not a huge deal. We did find out fairly quick that our smaller dog can slip underneath if we do not lock it. If you're putting it at the top of a set of stairs LOCK IT, small children (maybe even smaller adults) could definitely fit underneath! We are very happy with this purchase though and will likely buy again in the future for other areas of the house.The doorway from our dining room to the living room is very wide and difficult to find a decent barrier for. We have 2 dogs that we separate when we're not able to give our full attention so we really wanted to find something quick and easy. It was fairly easy to set up. We really liked that it came with a template to tape on the wall. Once the gate is in place and closing off the area, you can lock it. So far it's great, our only gripe is that already when it is retracting sometimes you have to pull it back out a little so that it will go back in all the way. The bottom does push out a little bit if pressure is applied, so we were a little worried at first that the puppy would slip underneath, but if locked I don't think it would give enough, and so far we haven't had any issues. It's also not the easiest to use if you're trying to get through with your hands full, the latches can be a little awkward. But all in all, we're happy with it!

Pros:1) enough to deter a wandering baby2) strong enough for baby to lean on3) “stores away” nicely in its own little spot since it’s retractable.4) looks nice5) long enough to fit our “bigger than a doorway” opening6) definitely worth it for the price!Cons:1) have to drill 8 holes in the wall to install.2) has a strong draw-back so it takes a little bit of hand strength if you’re opening, closing, or latching with one hand.3) button may be a little bit difficult for small children to push before being able to open. My 5 year old needs help pushing the button on one gate from the opposite side, but is able to unlock it when she stands on the side where the gate is attached to the wall.

if you have a smart dog like mine, be prepared for them to figure out they can slide right under it. no matter how low or tight i had it, my dog found a way to get under it. it’s just mid and bad at retracting as well. it got stuck a lot. save your money and buy a sturdy metal or wooden gate.

So after 2 hours of getting pissed off finally watched the assembly video and realized its missing parts and no way to connect the roller gate part to the eall so for me its useless and waste of time hope yall get better luck. Update my kid had took the bag of parts i was missing and now can actually be assembled.

I have 1 year old twins so we bought this to keep them safe in living room. Yet this hate has torn easily at the seams by the rods which allows our twins to lean over by a lot. Yesterday one of my twins flipped over so we removed the gate and threw it away. We tried to open up the rod and pull the mesh part back in and close rod back but it continues to come out with the opening and closing of gate. Was good for about 2 months once it ripped it continued to be a problem.
