Isadora Moon Goes to School

I absolutely love these Isadora Moon books by Harriet Muncaster- they have absolutely converted a reluctant reader! My 7 year old twins were at the stage where I wanted them to switch to "proper" chapter/story books, but one of them was particularly reluctant because there was nothing "interesting" on the page, simply a sea of text. We found Harriet Muncaster's series and both girls absolutely love it. It's at the perfect reading level for them but they love the characters, and the fact there is colour on every page, along with interesting pictures of what's going on. Both girls have read 3 to 4 of the Isadora Moon books, and we have invested in Mirabelle and Emerald to use as rewards for the girls. Brilliant!

My 7yr old granddaughter loves these Isadora Moon books. She has quite a collection now. She has always had a story read to her at bedtime but she now wakes up in the morning and starts reading them on her own as she can't wait to see what happens next. A great fun way to get your kids into reading.

Perfect gift

This series of books are brilliantly well written and illustrated. My 6 year old received the first book for Christmas and was instantly hooked. We have bought (and read) most of the rest of the series since. The books are engaging my daughter to read parts as she develops her reading skills, but also interesting for me to read aloud to her too. Isadora is a great likeable character. The books are fun, explore the idea of being different and being yourself. I love the fact that she is inspiring my daughter to read. They are perfect for children who are gaining confidence to read and need something to capture their imagination to get them through a book without it feeling like a chore.

A fun and witty book about a half vampire, half fairy little girl who is just trying to fit in but only seems to find herself stuck in-between both worlds and not knowing where she belongs. Filled with chaos and craziness which will make you laugh out loud. Beautifully illustrated and with a clear message of loving yourself for who you are. A much recommended read.

These are the books I wish I had thought of to write and illustrate. My daughter (5) loves them. Also available on Audible, so she drifts off to sleep listening to them. The language is age-appropriate without being dumbed-down.

Bought as a present for a 7 year old who is starting to read on her own and loves this series.

Great ideas and characters. First of a fab series. Super illustrations in limited palette.

Mittlerweile haben wir alle Bücher der Serie. Sie sind sehr schön gestaltet und gut geschrieben, perfekt wenn man sein Kind eh schon zweisprachig aufzieht. Die Themen behandeln immer etwas, was das eigene Kind auch durchmachen wird: bleibende Zähne, Schulbesuch, Schulausflug, Kirmes, usw. Da man die Bücher in loser Reihenfolge lesen kann, kann man so immer ein neues Buch anlassbezogen verschenken oder (vor)lesen.

Offert à Halloween à une enfant de 8 ans, elle réclame déjà d'autres tomes pour Noël. Parfait aussi pour débutant en anglais. Les illustrations en rose et noir sont magnifiques et les enfants se reconnaissent dans les histoires d'Isadora Moon. Les progrès sont indéniables car l'histoire est engageante et les personnages intéressants. N'hésitez pas, vous serez surpris du résultat.

The Isadora moon series is perfect for 6+ years old. Those who are beginning to read chapter books but still looking for illustrations. Large lettering and vibrant black and pink illustrations. It has a blend of a fun story with a kind message. English is good and not American slang.
