How to Write Your Best Story Ever!

Purchased for my seven year old granddaughter as she said she always writes spooky witch stories at school and found it hard to think of something different. She found it colourful, easy to read and it is clearly written for her to understand. It has helped enourmously and she was especially pleased when her homework was to do with scripts and there was clear information in the book. She has made many long lists of power words too which has enhanced her vocabulary.

This great guide covers all the topics you need and more for anyone starting to write their own stories. It is filled from front cover to back with handy tips and tricks. It uses simple yet effective language. I would highly recommend it for new young authors (Oscar - age 9)

This has been very helpful for my 8 year old but I think it will be even more helpful when he gets to secondary school. Its well structured and the author has made a real effort to share what he's learned, and he structured the book in a colorful way and I like the way he has boxes and thoughts spread about on the page: I think even that teaches you how to develop your thoughts. At this age, I am translating the insights to my son but when he is about 11, I can see hom being able to use this book directly himself. Its 4 star for 8+ and I would estimate 5 star for 11+.

A great book to guide you through the process of writing a great story. It covers every part in great detail, to make you think from different points of view and see things how others would read it.

I bought this as both my children 7 and 8 struggle with writing stories at school as they don't find it easy to come up with ideas or details. This does have loads of ideas for stories and alternative words but it's almost a bit overwhelming and they don;t like using it, it's pages of spider diagrams with alternative words to use. I hoped it would be a bit more user friendly for younger children to help guide them on writing parts of a story but I think maybe it is better for older children.

Brilliant book. So inspirational for young children. Gives so much encouragement to use imagination from lots of simple ideas. We use story dice to make a start. Great value. So pleased with my purchase.

Great book to help young children start to write their own stories. Loads of ideas for characters, scenery, imagery, descriptions and so in. Really helps consolidate learning too and expand vocabulary. Excellent.
