I looked and looked for a decent thesaurus for my 11 and 13 year old. This TOTALLY met all my needs and "wishes" too! The pictures are super appealing, the layout is NOT overly busy which is one thing I really require with my kids--today's society inundates our kids with constant comic-like crap that is just fluffed up garbage a lot of times, books that are full of pictures and "flashiness," but not a lot of substance. This book has substance and serious value. It isn't cheap, at least not compared to the other thesauruses I looked at, but the quality far supersedes the others and I highly recommend. It gives kids a good foundation on which to build off of when it comes to enjoying and using the English language well.

This thesaurus is great so far and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. It’s easy for kids to understand and helpful for learning new words and expanding vocabulary. No complaints so far.

I am pleased with this book - it's a thesaurus, all right. There feels to be enough words and synonyms that a child can grasp easily. (I like to use it to help me explain words)

I loved the quality of this thesaurus. I was looking for a good one because i don't want my kids turning to the internet every time they don't understand a word or its different meanings. I love that there are illustrations to make it more interesting for kids.

The book is mostly great and easy to use. Sometimes it can be a little confusing the way certain words are pulled out as sidebars, but it's not so bad. The one bizarre thing is that the word "fun" is listed in the book, but only the noun form. The adjective is mysteriously absent... and that's one of the key "boring" words that students need help with.

Retired children’s librarian here. Researched thesauruses for my grandson, just turned seven. This was the leader! Also use it for volunteer tutoring to help children recognize nuances in words and increase their vocabularies. Wonderful for ESL speakers. The visuals Alone are worth the price of the book. This title not only explains the meaning, the visuals show the relationship Amon words. A wonderful achievement in publishing!!

Great, attractive, thorough book for the intended age group. A child (and adult) might actually up this book to read for fun!

Good one, acts as both a dictionary and thesaurus, with great illustrations as expected from the house of Dorling Kindersley, a few of whose encyclopedias I own from my high school days and inherited to my child. Collection of words is less but makes it a manageable size for primary school kids and keeps them interested, compared to the plain B&W dictionaries.

調べる為ではなく、気が向いた時にこの本を開いて挿絵を眺めながら自然と英文を読んでいる感じです。 同義語の本だから、こんなに一つの動作にも言葉があるのだと発見も多いです。だから買って良かったと思える本です。 あちらの小学生高学年向けな本ですが、読み易くて好きです。

Good resource for older primary children. My daughter is in year 4 and currently homeschooling. I always like the idea of having a thesaurus/dictionary as opposed to googling everything. Has pictures and illustrations to make it a little more interesting. Nothing bad to say :)

Love this children dictionary. Easy to read . Large prints. Great for homeschooling or the classroom. Mother approved and kid tested.
