Great watch-comfortable, looks good, keeps great time and easy to read.
My husband never wore a watch before. He thought they were uncomfortable. But he needed one to work in our temple and make sure he was where he needed to be on time. I have worn Timex's for over 50 years and found them to be reliable, comfortable and sturdy. This one seemed perfect for him and he loved it! It looks great, keeps great time (as do all Timexes) and is easy to read in all lighting situations thanks to the illumination feature.

Excellent, easy to read watch. A bit fiddly to set the date and time but worth the price.
I bought this watch as I have low vision and need something easy to read. I have always had good luck with the Timex brand. It is indeed easy to read and at the push of the stem, glows in the dark, always great when having to wake up in the night for kids or prayers. Now, what everyone complains about: YES, you WILL have to turn the stem of this watch many, many times to set the date and time correctly. I say, put your favorite audiobook, recording, etc. on your headphones and just go for it. It's not difficult, just time consuming. This is the only drawback of this watch. It is very handsome to wear, and comes a good six inches up my arm as a woman. I keep meaning to take it to a jeweler to have it resized, but rather like it as is, as I always seem to have my sleeves rolled up all the time anyway! It is water resistant, I do take it off in the shower but I have gotten it wet washing my hands and it hasn't hurt the watch at all. Five stars!

A good watch for the money!
This watch has a very clear, easy-to-read dial. I like the "indiglo" feature. It is ideal for sleep-in-the-dark wear-a-watch-to-bed guys like me. It also keeps pretty good time. I bought this one to replace one just like it that lasted almost ten years. After shopping quite a bit, I found nothing any better in this price range. Of course, nothing is forever. Eventually, the case will become etched by natural skin chemicals, and the stem may even disintegrate. So, buy another watch. The negatives are these: 1) like all cheap calendar analog watches, you have to manually advance the dates at the end of short months; 2) the band is a magnet for dust and crud, so it needs cleaning once a year with a toothpick or needle. If you're lucky, the battery will last as long as the watch. Otherwise, I suggest going to a real jeweler to replace the CR-2016 cell. The back of the case does not unscrew; it "pops" off. Getting it off is no problem. Getting it back on (without ruining the seal) takes more talent than you typically find in the shops that also sell automobile batteries. All things considered, this is a rather good watch for the money. UPDATE (Eight years and three months later)... So, the "ten year" battery lasted eight and a quarter years. I am not complaining, just reporting. Unfortunately, I failed to follow my own advice. I tried to replace the spent battery myself. Bad move! I should have gone to jeweler. But no, I got out my watchmaker tools and started prying on the back. It would not move. It was affixed much more solidly on this watch than on the watch it replaced. So, I used the stem for leverage. That was a really bad move. The stem snapped right off. No fixing that, I'm afraid. A clean break. As a result, here I am buying my third watch of exactly the same make and model, exactly the same as I reviewed eight years ago (see above). Maybe I'm wrong, but I believe it is now a few dollars cheaper than before. No complaint about that. Anyway, I am not bothering to shop around this time. It's a good watch, well worth the money, and I never believed the battery would last ten years in the first place. So I am buying another one, exactly the same. Watch this space eight years from now; and, assuming my thoracic ticker still functions, I will report again. If one battery lasts eight years, maybe another one will actually go for the full promised ten years. Incidentally, the batteries (CR-2016) are cheap enough. I got five of them for $3.75 on eBay. Coincidentally, the seller advertised a ten year shelf life.

Basic watch that keeps accurate time so far. The date function is somewhat tedious.
Nice watch at a reasonable price. No bells and whistles. It just tells time. Dial lights up when the multi-function button is pressed. Setting the day numeral display required some fiddling it. In the end I just advanced the time to get to the correct date. I took the extended warranty but it likely will not be an issue.

Best watch I've ever owned
This is number 3 of this watch I've owned. Not bad for over 20 years. It's doubled in price since I bought my first one. The one I replaced with this one just needs a battery. Where we live, no one puts new batteries in a watch, and that includes Walmart. My wife has it in her purse and will get it done on her next shopping mall trip. The dial is large and can I can light it up in the dark when I need to. The only con I have for the watch is the band is to small.

Twice Failed
Bought this watch, first for my dad for Christmas 2025. He has dementia and has trouble reading a watch. This one fot the bill with large, easy to read display, backlight, and water-resistant. It also had the metal, stretch band, which he likes. However, after setting the date and time, found it would not hold time. Replaced the battery with a new one, since it was possible the battery inside the watch was several years old. This did not help. Still kept losing time. Bought another, identical watch and it kept time OK but after a week of use, the second hand completely stopped. Again, replaced the battery but no help. Second hand would never move. Being a Timex, I expected better quality. Will be ordering another brand after this experience. UPDATE*** 3/30/2026 I.have upgraded my review to 5 stars because I took the first watch I bought and set the time and kept it with me. It has held time perfectly. What happened is my dad, who has severe dementia, was messing with it and apparently changing the time but had no recollection of doing something. Therefore, I have changed my eating. The watch is definitely easy to read and the backlight works fantastically. Not a thing wrong with it. However, the second watch i ordered DID malfunction. The second hand just quit working, even with known good batteries.

Nice Watch
So far so good. The watch didn't come with directions for setting the day and date, you have to go online, that's a cheap out to me. Setting both was easy to figure out since I've owned other day / date watches, just pull the stem out to the first stop, wind clockwise for one and counter clockwise for the other. So far the watch has kept good time, at this writing I've been wearing it two weeks. I have a small wrist so fit is just very slightly loose, barely moving on my wrist, not an issue with me. Good looking watch, I like the big numbers so it's easy to read, the glowing face works well, making the watch easy to read in the dark. Based on my time with the watch so far I would buy it again.

best bang for your buck
First off let me get a few things clear from my experience with this watch vs the reviews. 1. this watch fits perfectly nice on my wrist, i'm not a kid by any means i'm a 6 foot 3 230lb man who has a pretty thick wrist. It feels perfectly comfortable on my wrist, it feels like its barely there but keeps its place on my wrist and it's not even close to being fully stretched out but its also not loose. 2. The instructions, you mean what instructions? the one it comes with is just it saying its water resistant in like 7 different languages, to get the ACTUAL instructions in how to set this you have to go online. That being said I did NOT have as much trouble as some people in the reviews did, I set the time day and date within under a minute of setting it up. I however have not set the alarm yet as i'm debating whether I even need to. 3. The quality, it feels like a very solid product I dont feel like its a cheap dimestore watch it feels like one of those deals you find in a store where you get the feeling you're getting your moneys worth for what you're paying for, this is a solid watch. 4. Check your battery, keep an eye on how good the timekeeping is, I suspect alot of people have gotten faulty batteries which does happen in such a mass produced watch but its really no fault on the product itself. 5. Awesome for winter, I keep very bulky watches (like my casio rangeman which is a 175 dollar watch) but in winter time, especially going into the city you dont want a bulky watch that makes having sweaters and gloves and getting things out of your pocket difficult, this easily slips under my gloves, sweater and doesn't obstruct me getting things from my pocket, its very streamlined. I love that. Overall I think this is a great watch. It reminds me alot of what my Grandfather wore and I think that is what it was aiming for, your grandpa's old expandable band timekeeper, It wasn't the most beautiful thing on the planet but it got the job done and kept on ticking. small update: its accurately keeping time, on the dot and its been a few days now. 2nd update: its been a month now still as accurate as the day I set it. 3rd update: its now may 10th and its still keeping time and hasn't missed a beat, still on the same minute as every other accurate watch. It's been good to me in the rain, washing my hands, etc. I did get the silver tone and if you do some hard labor you'll get scratches here and there but this is a working man's watch that wants to look nice and it's doing its job at that. 4th update: through rain snow and hot and cold weather still haven't missed a beat. I haven't even set the timer to fix it other then DST final update: this thing is still ticking, I haven't had to re-adjust it and it's keeping time accurately, it's now august 2018.

Indiglo light not complete
Great watch, love it and have it on me everyday. But the indiglo light is not full. Top half is missing. Returned it and got another watch, same issue.
