Great lights - safer night time riding
Easy to install, looks to be more sturdy than a different brand I had purchased a few years ago. Very bright, looks cool and definitely makes night riding safer for my kids. One thing I’ve noticed with some of the brighter colors (e.g., green, probably white) is that they can be so bright that they might reduce your night vision. I prefer to put the slightly less-bright colors (e.g., blue) on the front tires and a brighter color on the rear tires. YMMV.

works like a charm
Prior to this product, I had a different brand (Waybelive 2 pack LED with remote control) that had a remote control to turn lights on and off and choose color and effect variations. When using the prior product, a lot of times the lights would turn off after five minutes or less and I'd turn it back on and it would go off. Sometimes when going over a rough terrain or bump, it would not function properly.again. I didn't have the timer mode, so it was a malfunction. When I had to change the 3 AAA batteries, the inner metallic mechanism was so poor quality, it broke or would be likely to at any time. Also If I were to lose or forget the remote, there was no other way to turn the lights on. Eventually one of the wheel lights stopped working entirely.I like this Activ life product. It is very easy to turn it on and off on each tire. There is a button that worksvery nicely. Also, when inserting or changing the 3 AAA batteries, there is a battery compart that is pulled out so I can insert the batteries while in whatever comfortable position I choose (standing or sitting etc) not crouched over the bike and not as likely to damage any of the internal components as with other products. I'm also glad I don't need to have a remote control I could forget or lose.I ordered the lights that change colors. Also, prior to buying, I called the customer service # to see if I could reach someone, so I would knowthey are available in the future should a problem occur. Sure enough, I was able to speak withsomeone in customer service who was very helpful, informative, and reassuring. In a nutshell everything works great and very pleased.

Look super cool while being safe!!! Wish it was a bit more sturdy
Bought these about year ago.I commute almost exclusively on bike and at night, I really want to be noticeable to cars. These make you EXTREMELY noticeable and enjoyed by people on the street. I got a lot of compliments and kids find them super entertaining.Easy instillation and easy battery change. Zip ties help keep the lights in place. One friend recommended getting a glue gun stick, melt the end with a lighter and dab the spokes to keep the lights more securely in place. If you ever need to take it off, you can easily peel off the glue.Unfortunately after a month, the light I installed on the front wheel broke; wires detached. I wrapped the wires around every other spoke and though maybe I wrapped it too tight. I bought another one and loosely install it this time. Sadly, broke again. Surprisingly, the back wheel lights I installed the same way never broke. A friend had spare lights and installed it closely to the rim without wrapping it around the spokes. He just zipped tied it. So far no problem. If you ever ride after sunset, PLEASE try these out. They really do make a difference. Just be smart about how you install it. Ie: if too tight, it might tense up the wire and break. If too loose the wires would probably rub against the spokes too much and eventually break. It sucks how it’s a trial and error for me, but if you find a good way to install them, let us know!

Safety first
This product is nearly perfect and I hope you will get one or more sets as well! This green model is very bright, eye-catching, and a lot of fun to experience when the sun is down.At the time that I received this product I also had ordered the version that cycles through multiple colors. Both are excellent products and you will have to decide which is the right one for you. The big difference is that the singular color lights had two modes: On/Off -- or blinking. I find myself appreciating the blinking mode a lot more often than I had anticipated and was disappointed that the color-switching one (while beautiful to behold) is only On or Off. You can read my review over on that model. As a (pre-pandemic) daily bicycle commuter, I found the side-illumination these afforded my tires to be invaluable for peace of mind. My rear-facing tail light and 1000 lumen headlight have long been staples BUT bicycling through an intersection always caused me to wonder whether the cross-traffic would notice me. Drivers are rarely on the lookout for cyclists where I live. I feel like these wheel lights changed my visibility to cross-traffic in a big way and I was very pleased to have them on anytime I was out pre-dawn or post-dusk. I even appreciated using them in flashing mode under the presumption that they may just give a little more visibility during the morning or evening commute when the sun was still up.The installation process isn't ideal and I found it a little more difficult and worrisome than I had pictured. I found the tiny bulbs (like regularly-spaced dew on grass) to get in the way of twisting around my spokes and did not always feel like the wrapping was going well. It left me worried that I had or would damage them during the installation process. However, the material turned out to be remarkably durable and I was grateful that my 700C wheel fit the product perfectly for one trip around the outer rim. If I had a smaller wheel (or wanted to install on a kids bike) I imagine the number of trips around would feel tedious and a bummer that there aren't shorter versions available. Or maybe it looks extra cool to have layering of the bulbs. The battery life on these are fair. In the cold weather they obviously take a hit but in general it seems like it would be 3 months of daily use in warm weather and 2 months in the winter. The usage period is likely longer but I have not kept very good track of battery life to report properly.Regarding maintenance, if you get your bicycle tuned up, these little lights will likely have to be worked around as the bicycle mechanic trues the wheel spokes OR if you hang your bicycle by the wheel, they will likely be an annoyance to you. But there isn't any interaction with the lights (hopefully) when changing a tube. It feels like once they are installed they pretty well stay where you put them. I've had a few times where I wished that the lights were capable of being more cemented in place but in general I haven't messed with their positioning along the spokes. Expect there to be at least a little movement, though, from where you install them.So yeah, I am a huge fan of the bike wheel spoke lights and I can only hope that the innovations will be able to continue and keep this product improving as it matures. Great work Activ Life!
