Before You Buy This, THINK About Why You Need It!
I confess that I did not give a great deal of thought as to my plans for using this Wireless HDMI Transmitter and Receiver. The only time I really use an HDMI cable is when I want to connect my laptop to my television or other monitor. And yes, it would be convenient to not have to get a long cable to make that connection. It was only after setting this up, (by no means just a simple plug and play, you need to follow sometimes complicated directions) that I realized that it performs no more of a service for me than my Chromecast or Amazon Fire wireless connections. Yes, I was able to screen mirror my phone, and I could also cast a video or music using this, but between Chromecast, Fire, DLNA, Roku, etc., there's multiple options I already have. Yes, if I were giving a presentation before an audience and needed it shown on a large monitor, it would be convenient to not have to have a ridiculously long cable. But I don't give such presentations more than maybe once a year, and this is not an inexpensive tool. IF, however, you decide you need and can use this, it works quite well. It does help to have some understanding of what this is trying to accomplish (the big picture), which will help you understand the setup process more intuitively. But even if you don't, the unit comes with a pretty good instruction book, and if you are successful at making an initial connection, it will show you on screen what you need to do to connect. This appears to be well-built and it worked well once set up. So if you know how you'll use it, I can recommend. But just make sure you know what you will use it for.

Wireless solution plug and play HDMI casting to your choice of HDTV or monitors
I was looking for a solution to wirelessly cast video and/or audio signals via HDMI at home or when traveling to other indoor or outdoor HD TV's or monitors. This works particularly very well. It seems, but a few years ago, this technology wasn't as popular or yet perfected for consumers. This unit includes 1 each of a transmitter and a receiver along with 2 USB to USB-C cables, an HDMI cable, 2 attachable antennas for the receiver and an instruction guide. It is easy as plug and play. The transmitter has a built in HDMI short cable, while the transmitter you will attach the included HDMI cable or your own if longer is needed. The instructions suggest to connect the receiver first to ensure a stable Wifi signal, and then to connect the transmitter. They should easily pair, if not there are instructions to use the reset thimble on the receiver to set the connecting for pairing. Also for stable connections, you may need to power both the transmitter and receiver with your own USB power supply with the included USB to C cables. I only tried casting 1080 HD video and audio from my Windows PC and I was very pleased with how well it works with a stable signal within my home and in the back patio. I hope to continue enjoying the flexibility of easy wireless HDMI casting and hope this remains reliable long term.

Finicky
I had some trouble with this thing from the get go. Connecting the receiver to a TV was easy. Connecting the transmitter to a laptop took some messing around to get it to connect and it would randomly disconnect. Then there was no sound coming from the tv. I tried different sound setting on both the TV and the computer to no avail. Connecting it to a phone is much easier. If it is IOS you connect to the receiver wifi and mirror your screen. But you still need a cell service to be able to cast things from the web because you can't connect to 2 wifi at the same time. Android was much easier and it went through smart view with meant I could stay on my homes wifi. I didn't experience any over heating with the receiver and the picture quality mirrored my phones. I'm no techie but this wasn't super easy to figure out either.
