Nice cheap but perfectly functional pedal bin.
It amazed me how much trouble me and my partner had to find a good bin until we found this one. Unfortunately, in our kitchen, the only sensible place for a bin is under a counter. We knew we wanted a pedal bin for hygiene reasons. We drove around all sorts of supermarkets, department stores, DIY stores looking for something suitable but most bins are just too tall, they'd fit under the counter but don't have enough space for the lid to open. This bin is a little bit is shorter but wider than most which means no problems using it under a counter. The capacity is better than most other bins, 30L seems typical, so 50L is a good size and means less emptying. To assemble you just have to clip the lid onto the main body of the bin. Don't worry about clipping it to the pedal mechanism, that automatically engages when the lid closes. A press of the pedal raises the lid to about 45 degrees which is more than enough for 95% of my needs, if you need the lid higher, you can raise it by hand from a closed position and it will stay fully open. Before this, we had a fancy dandy automatic bin which opens when you wave your hand in front of it. Honestly, an old fashioned pedal is far better, there is no delay to open, it doesn't open when you just walk past it and it doesn't close when your half way through scraping a plate.Depending on your floor and what's behind the bin you might find the bin slides backwards ever so slightly whenever you press the pedal. You could live with this and simply move the bin back to its normal position. What I did was pour in a couple of inches of mixed floor levelling compound into the empty bin, and allow it to set to add some weight. I also added a few non-slip rubber feet. This isn't necessary but it does eliminate the only bugbear I have with the product. I'm not marking the item down any stars for this as I think the bin is fairly priced, taking this minor issue into consideration.Wow, did I really just write all of that about a simple bin? The best pedal bin!!
I have always used pedal bins and one tends to find that the lever pins have a tendency to either snap or disconnect after quite a short time. However, the Addis bin has a clip beneath the lid which attaches to the pedal lever device which can unclip to enable you to open the lid further and then reattaches itself to the pedal clip once the lid is closed - brilliant!Additionally, the bin itself is very light in weight, takes a lot of rubbish (like a friend of mine lol) and is easy to clean. I truly believe I'll have this bin for a number of years. I'll be sure to do a follow up review if this is not the case. Happy clappy.

Perfectly acceptable bin - and good value
This is a perfectly acceptable bin that should last for many years. The plastic feels sturdy and I can't imagine any circumstance under which the main part of the bin should break. Perhaps the foot pedal might snap or the lever which opens the lid might stop working - but I imagine that it won't be for many years. The only thing that stops this from being a great bin is that the lid only opens about 45 degrees. I would have preferred a bin lid that opened until it was nearly vertical so that I could chop and drop bits right over it. As it only opens 45 degrees, I have to reach slightly under the lid in order to drop things in.

Just what I needed!
Bin slim but holds plenty of waste.ease of use with no struggling to get the bag out when ready to empty.cleans well...perfect for my limit of space and really pleased with my purchase. Packaged well and arrived in good time.highly recommend. I've seen more and used more expensive bins and no where close to this one.

Good quality bin
It looks lovely in my kitchen. It is of a very good quality, very easy to clean and looks a lot more expensive than the price paid. I have had it now for quite a while and it looks like new! A very good purchase!

Good size, disappointed by lid
The bin looks decent is of good size and easy to assemble. Price is great. However I feel the reviews this bin got here are slightly overrated? The lid does not lift fully. The lid opens about half way which might be a problem for taking out full/dense bags of rubbish or putting very large items in. Would get 5* as it's great value for price, if not for lid!

Perfect size
I ordered this bin to replace my swing top bin which was not closing properly and therefore letting flies lay eggs inside the bin in our hot summer. Thus bin holds the same size as our previous shorter, wider kitchen bin

Takes normal sized bin bags, and is tough as old boots.
Good, but not perfect. Mine has a habit of travelling backwards slightly every time you open it, meaning you eventually push it backwards to the point where the lid won't open fully. So you have to bring it forwards, and 20 openings later, repeat the action. It needs little rubber feet, to make it perfect. I use one for recycling in the kitchen, and another as a 'garage' bin.Takes normal sized bin bags, and doesn't stand out.
