VP Veterinary Kaolin Suspension 480ml

I have used this many times for our dogs, and it has often been supplied by my vet for upset stomachs (diarrhoea). Its cheaper to buy from Amazon than it is from the vet, and we now keep some in. It has a really long 'use by' date (about 3 years) and you only need 0.5 - 1.0 ml per kg of body weight as a dose (I.e. a 20kg dog needs a maximum of 20ml) so a bottle lasts a long time. I use a plastic syringe to squirt it into the dogs mouth, to ensure it gets in the right place - its a useful precaution as if splashes on clothes, furniture or whatever, it dries to a white powder and is a bit stubborn to remove, to say the least! If you're an experienced dog owner, you'll know this already so I apologise if I'm stating the obvious here, but you should only self administer this if you're confident that its just a minor stomach upset - if you're not sure, or think it may be more serious (e.g diarrhoea persists for more than a day, signs of blood in faeces, dog is lethargic etc.) then don't take any chances and go to the vets. In other words, err on the side of caution and if there's any doubt, a trip to the vet is called for. Having said that, most dog owners know their dogs well, and if you've got one like mine who picks up 'tasty snacks' of discarded food, and has a particular penchant for fresh horse poo, then you'll know that the occasional bout of the squits caused by such 'snacking' can be effectively treated by skipping that days meal and a dose of Kaogel to settle them down.

Product okay settled my girls tummy a bit hopefully more by tomorrow...but not happy with delivery....waiting all day for it only to be found outside after looking on tracking to question where it was..didn't ring doorbell and packaging all open and soaking wet

this was recommended by a vet nurse. the cats prefer not to eat their dinner if they find this in it. it also didn't seem to have any effect. maybe you need to give a lot multiple times a day for it to work. did nothing for my rescue cats sadly.

We have this product on standby in our medical cupboard & it is in regular use here at our palliative care facility. We can vouch for its effectiveness, quality and efficacy. Our cats constantly because of illness or medication have bouts of loose bowel & this product is a good standby being very effective. We administer it by food or oral syringe and often mix with liquid treat although this is unnecessary as it smells of vanilla ( dogs like this cats are wary hence the mix) .
