I notice that this product contains pea protein. My cats fart when they eat cat food with soybeans in it. Does this food cause your cats to fart?

It sounds to me like your kitty might have some digestive issues. cats can't digest plant proteins well, or even at all in many cases. That can and does create gas. He/she may have irritable bowel syndrome/disease (IBD). If so, give her a decent probiotic powder mixed in with her food. They also sell probiotics mixed with prebiotics. I just started using the Fera brand that has both. It's a little pricey ($19 regular or $18.14 with S&S), but you only need about 1/2 of a scoop (included) which is approximately 1/4 teaspoon for a ten-pound cat. I have seven and the 2 1/2-ounce jar should last me about a month. For one cat that means about 6 months. I'd try it. It can't hurt and your Kitty will be extremely glad you got it for him or her (so will you when you notice less noxious clouds floating around in your home [LOL]). In the meantime, stick to foods with little or no grains or plant additives. A lot of companies use pea or other plant-based proteins to boost the protein content numbers on their labels. This is the 3rd time this product has doubled in price. What is going on?

3rd party sellers greed can play a big part. Stick to the honest & fair sellers. Definitely check their rating & read the customer reviews.

Does this food also have hairball protection? I do not see that on the label so i just needed to ask???

It doesn't say, and my long haired cat continues to cough up hairballs if I only feed her this dry food and don't supplement this with a hairball protection cat food. So I buy the Blue Buffalo dry food with hairball protection and mix it 50/50 with this.

Is this ok for kittens?

It is not kitten food. It's cat food. Only kitten chow is ok for the first 12-18 months, and they don't recommend only dry food for kittens. They should also be getting canned.
