Hyperkin 60 to 72 Pin Adapter for Famicom Compatible with NES

Alright, I actually bought this for a famiclone game that I got my hands called Magical Doropie aka Krion Conquest; which is a crazy expensive game. Even the authentic famicom game is expensive, but I got the clone for $20. Anyhow, my retron 5 plays famicom games, but not this one. So I needed a way to play it on my front loader nes, because I sure didn't want to buy a famicom just for one or a few games I might run across that aren't compatible with the retron 5.The instructions were pretty basic and only printed as pictures on the side of the box, so you would miss it if you threw the box away or misinterpreted the drawings, since you had to connect the game on backwards to the adapter. The only reason I knew how to put the game on it was from a YouTube video, and the guy on the video even said it could either damage the game or your console or both if you connected it wrong. Otherwise this works as it says and it played my clone perfectly after I hit the rest button twice as the insert told you to do if it didn't work the first time (oddly enough for non-north American consoles, but mine is an North American console or so I thought). After that it played the first time ever time I put it in the Nintendo.

Very happy with this. Now able to play my Famicom disks on my 55 inch tv without those annoying lines (vs thru the RF on this tv)

I have an USA NES-101, which is very clean and operates EXTREMELY well. I tried SEVERAL Famicom carts on this Hyperkin piece of junk, and all I got was PINK & RED screens!!! I tried reseting the system 4-8 times, as instructed on the included paper. I have a Japanese NES-101 console, and know these games work great. Very disappointing that Hyperkin is selling JUNK product that is unreliable and UNPLAYABLE...

Most importantly, this is way too easy to insert upside down. Use with caution. I've kept mine, but I plan on leaving it inside permanently.

So far this item works great. No problems at all.

Have a couple dozen famicom games but don’t want to deal with hooking up the famicom to play them, so I picked this up. Biggest issue is it’s not clear anywhere that the games have to be inserted backwards(label down on original NES, label back on top loader). There’s at least one 1* review that I saw posted that could have been avoided with actual instructions in the boxOnce I figured that out, tested a few games and it seems to work nicely. Audio may be a little quiet, but not awful

I have an HDMI modded front loader NES and this device lets me play Famicom games on it with no issues and at extremely high quality. I highly recommend it if you’re looking to start importing Famicom games. King Kong 2, and Namco Star Wars work flawless on it and even games with special chips allowing for enhanced effects such as the Famicom Contra’s animated tree leaves and snow work fine. It does exactly what it says on the box and you can’t ask for anything else!
