Useful range of metallic paints.
Set of metallic paint, has what I needed for scale aircraft modelling, not sure that I'll ever use the metallic colours but maybe I'll try a car kit one day. Usual valao quality and fast service.

A selection of good metallic paints
This set contains all 12 metallic paints in the Model Air range, plus three paints that could be used for rust and a medium grey that could be used to reduce the intensity of the metals if you want a duller, less shiny look. The coverage of these paints is quite variable. Aluminium, Chrome, Steel, Silver, Gunship Grey and Arctic Blue have exceptional coverage even by hand, while Bright Brass and Gold are actually quite poor. The rest of the paints are about typical for Model Air in this regard (except for fluro orange, which has poor coverage but that is to be expected of a fluorescent paint!)One thing I noted is that some of the bottles are in the new Vallejo style with new branding (18ml, transparent casing, made of recycled plastic with a thicker 'spout') while the rest are in the classic style.

Good Value set
This is a great way to build up your Vallejo paints set.I use these for brushed detail work, and also for airbrushing, they work perfectly for both, without any thinning required. The thinner formulation for detail keeps the metallic content higher than when thinning regular paints, these metallic look great whatever you are doing with them, and really pop when you go over them with a gloss or semi gloss varnish. for Matt finishes, use over the matt varnish if you want to retain the metallic sheen,Sadly, the Signal red is the usual Orangy pinky metallic red you will find from any model paint manufacturer, deep metallic reds only seem possible using a candy coat.

Now that’s impressive
I love these colours. They make any model or figure pop. I used them for a model of a 1969 VW Beetle, loads of chrome and they look amazing. Buying this set of paints works out a lot cheaper than buying individual paint pots.

Good but expensive
Really useful colours. Bottles a little small. Therefore quite expensive. Very easy to use. I will definitely use other colours in the range.

The Silvers are FANTASTIC
The silver paints in this range are outstanding. Easily the best silver miniature paint I've ever worked with. However, the golds in this range leave a lot to be desired. My favourites in this range are Alluminium and the Metallic Black. You can create a lot of interesting contracting metallic effects just with those two paints.
