Waterproofing my boots
Used to waterproof my walking boots before leaving on a walking holiday in the summer. Seems to have worked effectively, no problem with wet feet in aging boots! Happy with the product and price cheaper than my local shops which is a plus. Would have liked to have a cloth, or brush, to aid application but not really an issue as i have plenty!

Good wax for walking boots
Does what it says on the tin.Keeps water at bay for a time on treated leather.Quite a sticky finish once applied and let's dust easily stick to it. Water resistances are good but lacks much oil to condition the leather, so a possibility of the leather cracking after time.

Works well and looks good value
I've used Zamberlan's Hydrobloc on my boots for as long as I can remember and I've never been unhappy with it, but I thought I'd give Grangers Waterproofing Wax a try this time as it's cheaper and you also get slightly more. It's easy to believe something to be the best if you've never compared it with anything else.Grangers has a honey colour (Hydrobloc: translucent, like a silicone sealant). I used to apply the Hydrobloc using my finger but the Grangers is creamier so I used a bit of cloth. Because of its consistency I found the Grangers slightly easier to apply. The surface is darkened by the treatment and leaves the surface feeling slightly tacky which eventually dries off after many days, but no different from Hydrobloc.Overall the result was little or no different from what I'd experienced previously with Hydrobloc. The acid test is how waterproof the result is and I've no way of determining this, but then no reason to think is will be much or any different. I'm happy with the Grangers and will continue to use it.

works a treat for walking boots
bought this for my leather goretex walking boots. Works a treat. I rub in using my fingers to help melt the wax and leave to be absorbed. Leaves a waxy coating (dependant on how much you apply) which you can buff off or polish over. When you walk in the boots you can sometimes get a white waxy line where be boot folds as you walk, but this quickly disappears. The product leaves your boot leather in good condition and very waterproof. I have applied to my dress work shoes for waterproofing also.

Great, simple product
Waterproofing and protecting your boots couldn't be easier. This pair is ten years old and although worn only probably for 100-200 days in that period, they haven't been well-maintained.After two minutes if applying the wax with a lint-free cloth, you can see the result. The surface is now totally water repellent.Great, simple product.Just one thing: it doesn't go very far. One tub will comfortably treat just two pairs of boots if, like me, you don't do this often.

Wandering wax
As others have remarked, the product stays sticky for a very long time and as I needed to use my boots, I wore them anyway. When I got home I found the way had worked its way onto my trousers and socks, even inside my boots where I had not applied any wax and my boots bad picked up detritus from the hike, stuck lovingly to the still sticky wax. I think the formulation needs to be oilier and less waxy to take properly to the leather and whilst it does the job, it is self-evidently not an easy product to use. I expect I'll have developed either a love or a loathing for the product by the time I reach the end of the tin, which it seems will be after years of frugal application as I bought two tins at the outset!

Brilliant
Love this stuff. I've messed about with other leather specific restorer as my boots were looking like they were suffering. This stuff is way better. Instantly brought the leather back to life and waterproofed them better than anything else I've tried. Makes the leather look darker, like it's permanently wet, but that doesn't bother me.

A QUICK WAY TO MAINTAIN THAT WATERPROOFING TO LEATHER WALKING BOOTS
This is the first time I've used this wax proofing on my excellent leather 'North Face' walking boots. It's more than likely to be perfectly safe but what with all the Americanese advice on the jar's label about avoiding skin contact ( they're pretty vigilant about guarding against the silly end of 'blame culture litigation' over there ) I thought I'd play safe by donning some latex gloves. Application is easy enough by rubbing in a small quantity with a microfibre E-cloth or bit of rag. I reckon that only a thin film of this wax is needed to form a waterproof barrier which can then be re-applied as and when required. As I read another review about too much being dabbed onto the boot surfaces making them tacky for yonks I take it that this cannot be right. So, the advice from me is to apply the stuff sparingly and the result is a non-tacky 'good-un' in minutes. There is something on the jar's label too, stating that this wax can be used on 'Gore-tex' treated footwear too.Eamonn

Great stuff
If you are debating between this and Nikwax buy this, no question. It absorbs better, lasts way longer and just plain keeps water out better.

Soddisfatto
Molto soddisfatto, a parte la compatibilità con la membrana in Goretex, rispetto al grasso che ho utilizzato fin'ora da l'impressione di penetrare più a fondo nel pellame e preservare meglio la scarpa dai graffi
