Supercalafragalisticexpialidocious!!
This film brings wonderful personal nostalgic memories of bygone times when I used to sit with my daughter when she was a child where we would sit and sing along to all the songs - so when I saw this advertised I just had to buy so I could replicate this with my five year old grandson!! It did not disappoint and he too was joining in with the songs and dancing in the living room - a wonderful uplifting family favourite film

Brilliant restoration of a classic Disney film.
What a brilliant restoration of this classic Disney film. The animation scenes still hold up today and the music written by the Sherman brothers will always be considered timeless. Julie Andrews positively shines as Mary Poppins. Her portayal is full of small, subtle mannerisms and of course her singing is second to none. A definite recommendation.

Absolute Classic
What's not to like? including Dick Van Dykes' attempt at a Cockney accent....ha haSeriously, this is still a great film 60 years after the making, the songs are ingrained in our minds, and some of the combination sequences between live action and cartoon are amazing given when they were created. A 'must have' for any film collection....as Mary would ''say it's practically perfect in every way''

Sentimental charm
First saw this as a child at a local cinema when first released. Bought for sentimental reasons but still very enjoyable. There's still a certain magic to these older films not evident in today's 'market'. Watch with young children (or become one again for a little while!).

Great songs, a lovely film for children
I have always loved this film and I have bought it for my children who have learnt some of the songs at school. The film is very slow-paced by comparison with contemporary children's films, but it is subtle, gentle, humourous and with a lovely moral message centred around the father learning to spend more time playing with his children.Aside from her wonderful singing voice, Julie Andrews' character is a sharp-witted and moral nanny to two children, and through her the children's father learns to spend more time playing with his children and less time working. It is heart-warming, gritty and educational. Dick Van Dyke's warmth and humour are engaging enough that you forgive him his terrible English accent.

The Most Loveable Childminder
I grew up watching Disney films. This movie is so funny and entertaining. I love the manner in which they jump on the chalked out entrance and are transported into cartoonland. I saw this with my Mum and Dad in the Cinemahall as a child where I saw all the 60's disney movies. I'm still a child inside and enjoy it now as I did as a child when I did not want to leave the cinema when the movie ended and wanted to watch it again and again. I also love the laughing scenes when they rise up to touch the ceiling. So funny and innocent.Love Dick Van Dyke. He is my all-time hero and idol.. GOD BLESS HIM. Love Julie Andrews, also my Idol. The best ever Mary Poppins. A spoonful of sugar. Thank you Amazon.
