Q: How long is this monopod when it is folded up for transporting? I need to fit it inside my suitcase...

hi this monopod is 22 inches long 55 cm including case. it is a fantastic product i've had it several months and i use it to mount my binoculars on for night time observation. i'm 6'2" and it is more than tall enough for me to observe the stars, great value for money and great product.

It depends what you mean by “ real units “ ? 67 inches is also 5 feet 7 inches or maybe you mean the metric equivalent ? In which case that would be 170 centimetres or 1.7 metres !

Q: Will this monopod stand up on its own? Also can I attatch a flip mino to it? Thanks.

Flip Mino appears to be equipped with a tripod socket so it will fit. No it will not stand up on its own unless you stick it in a hole or wedge it in something. It's a monopod, a single stem telescopic stick. Stand it vertical and remove support then gravity will take over and it will fall down.'

Q: Would this support the Sony G lens

Possibly. Assuming you mean a 2kg plus £1500 lens with its own mount - I'd splash for a specific support. The basics range are generally very good, but the clue is in the name - this just has a regular quarter inch screw mount. It works fine for a pair of Celestron Skymaster 15x70 binoculars, which are about 1.5kg, so if you had a 1/4 in adapter to whatever mount the lens has, it might work fine. The pod is excellent for what I use it for, but you know your own kit. For a big lens, plus camera, personally, I'd go for something a lot more substantial.
