I have had this desktop computer for a while now and it did not have an Internet capability except using an ethernet cable which I don’t currently have the location I’m using. Just as described, this was plugged and play. The unit itself contains all the drivers you need. It was up and running very easily and seems to be working well.

Works well, I had a laptop with a bad quality WiFi card built into the MOBO, installed this WiFi usb adapter and my speed went 5x easily. Easy setup with disc or online drivers.

Worth investment to increase internet connection speeds of laptops original Realtek wifi 5 NIC card to communicate with Eero wifi 6 router. Reached advertised 1201Mbps wifi 6 speeds; nearly tripled connection from 433Mbps of original wifi 5 –New 2025 model Intel laptop. Windows 11 Home, 25H2. Original NIC card is inaccessible so had to resort to using dongle to increase connection rate and improve download/upload speeds. Plugged dongle into USB 3.1, Gen2 port Cons: None so far; installation and operation are all positive and stable Other thoughts: –Downloaded backup copy of latest Windows 11 wifi drivers from TP-Link website but drivers on installed on dongle were recognized. --Hardware model Archer TX820U Nano, version 1.6 –Reconfiguring laptop software and installing new drivers took less than 10 minutes; no OS system errors or conflicting drivers

My son's old USB WiFi adapter was struggling to keep up with the games he's playing now. Even though it would sometimes connect to the 5G, it would change to the 2.5. I built him a new gaming machine; but used the old USB WiFi adapter and it was still slow. So, I got this TP-Link (Archer TX30U Plus)-AX1800. Installed the drivers via the adapter itself. It saw the 5G SSID and I connected to it. The TP-Link said it was a WiFi6 network and that it would be fast. Then it disconnected and then it couldn't find any WiFi networks. It kept going from no WiFi to no WiFi networks found. Rebooted, reinserted, it wasn't working anymore. I don't know if it was "changing modes" to the WiFi6 or what. I had the two little antennas sticking straight up...thinking higher up would be best for signal acquisition. Just as a final ditch effort I tilted them down 45 degrees and all of a sudden, the adapter connected to the 5G and we were good to go. I don't know if that really fixed it or if it was changing modes or what; but it works now and speed test shows about 350Mbs up and down. I have 1Gig fiber to the house. This was all last night, so, we'll see if it continues to operate. Nope. Two days later, it stopped working. I inserted old adapter and it works fine. Submitting a refund.

For starters, this suited my application perfectly considering I picked it up for an older laptop with a failing internal wifi adapter, so my standards weren't set very high. The price was perfect and came in way below the cost to replace the internal wireless chip. It connected right out of the box without the need to install drivers, and performed better than the internal adaptor ever did. The design is very sleek and low profile. I didn't bump the adaptor once while moving the laptop around during my room-to-room signal tests. Its ability to pick up a strong or weak steady signal and hold it is great, especially since the laptop was from 2012 and naturally has slower hardware. Even tried out a little light gaming in each room and it held a connection beautifully. I'll likely purchase another one for another older gaming laptop I have, also from 2012 with a slow internal adaptor. That way I won't have to switch this one back and forth between setups If you're looking for a cheap and steady way to connect older hardware to the net, this will get the job done and definitely gets a "would recommend" from me. I'll add images in a few days. First time around I wasn't able to take pictures, but I will shortly to show the level of connectivity in each room and rough distance.

So far , so good. This little dongle plugin increased my internet speed to my PC from about 60mbs to over 300 mbs. I purchased it because I have an 8 year old computer that did not have dual band wifi card, so I was only getting 2.4 GHZ. My Cox Panoramic router has wifi 6 and delivers 500+ mbs on my Iphone. With this dual band USB 3.0 gadget, it immediately picked up the 5.0 and in a room pretty far from the router, I am now speed testing at 245MBS to 305MBS depending on the server I choose from Ookla Speedtest. Easy set up, just plug it in and a popup window shows up to download the driver by clicking it. Word of advice--disable any previous wifi connections that may have been slowing things down, and just operate with the TP Link so that the computer does not get confused re: 2.4 or 5.)

Worked perfectly and easily ! Needed my parents desktop to connect to the internet with out them having to plug in a cable this made it easy! The connectivity is a breeze the design is perfect and it has a pretty good range able to pick up the wifi from other places in the house i definitely recommend
