Addional Review after fitting the replacement
First, very many thanks for the detailed review by Noel Rooney, reproduced here. Then, read my add-on: Noel RooneySimple job, just one tricky bit.Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 April 2018Verified PurchaseI bought this to replace the door latch on my Rangemaster Professional+It's exactly what was needed. It has metal rollers instead of the plastic ones that were originally used. It's pretty simple to replace.1. Loosen but don't remove the two nuts that secure the original latch.2. Remove the two Allen screws that are on the left hand side of the door. There's one at the top and bottom. That will allow you to access the latch from the inside.3. Remove the two nuts that you previously loosened.4. This is the tricky bit. Your new latch has two holes which are not threaded. They will need to be before you can use the original latch screws to attach you new latch. However, you can use these screws to create a thread in the new latch. This is best done on a table by holding the latch in a vice grips and using another to push the screw into the hole.5. Once this is done you can attach the new latch in the reversal of the procedure in step 3.6. Screw the door back in using the Allen screws.7. You can replace the strike pin if you want, I did. That's a simple matter of unscrewing the strike pin by hand, you may need to loosen the nut first. Installing the new one us a reversal. Thanks Noel, it saved me having to work it out.Because I have a set of Taps & Dies, I was able to Tap new threads in the holes in the new latch. The size is M3. If you accidentally lose the old 'screws' don't worry. you can buy new Cheese-head M3 screws at Robert Dyas, B&Q or Homebase. Cheese-head screws have screwdriver slots instead of the hex heads of the original 'screws'.I agree that the steel rollers of the new latch gave a pleasing clunk when shutting the door.My previous negative was and is with the Seller who sent the wrong part, then a postage required label that required payment and an annoying necessity to go to a Post Office, and is still not refunding the postage.

Fitted my Rangemaster
My cooker door catch was worn out and wouldn't stay closed. This catch was easy to fit after i'd watched how to get the cooker door off my Rangemaster and I'm a lady pensioner! Search how to replace Rangemaster cooker door catch on YouTube, really helpful. It fitted perfectly on my 13year old double door Rangemaster gas cooker. Excellent value and swift delivery.

I wish we had purchased this sooner!
No more slamming the oven door! Didn’t realise how much the oven door was frustrating us until we fitted this and our lives got a little bit better!!

Correct cooker part, but note there it comes without screws.
This was the right part and did the job. Unfortunately by the time it arrived we had misplaced the original tiny screws and this new part came without screws. Admittedly it is not advertised with screws. The screws were not easy to find locally, in fact they were impossible to find. In the end my husband got the screws from Rangemaster cookers. We might as well have bought the part there ourselves because of the lack of screws. However we got there in the end and did save the £175 call out fee local firms wanted. The Plus is that the door is now shutting better than originally.

Perfect fix and easy to do - requires no special tools
Perfect solution for the failing door latch on our old Rangemaster. Our problem was steam from the cooking was leaking out of the top of the door. Having replaced the seal several years ago in the hope this was the issue I noticed the door was not locking properly. On closer examination I found the top roller clip was cracked and not allowing the latch to held correctly.I ordered this part, it works really very well and the rollers are metal rather than plastic. I feel this is a much better design !Fitting is very easy and I would highly recommend it !!Example of fitting the latch can be found on YouTube for those looking for tips.

As others have noted its pretty easy to replace the catch
Worth calling rangemaster to check the part you need, but this is much cheaper than ordering from them direct. As others have noted its pretty easy to replace the catch. On my oven there are 4 bolts to unscrew on the side of the door using an allen key, that takes off the front of the door, giving access to the old worn out latch. You should already have screws to remove the old one, retain these and use them to install the new latch as it does NOT come with the necessary screws. Once done, rebolt the oven door on and enjoy the pleasant click as you gently push the over door shut and watch it remain closed without the slamming you will have endured for the previous months.
