2PC Handle Patch Custom Micarta Scales For Benchmade Griptilian 551 Knife (Black)

These scales are beautiful and perfectly fitted. It came with all of the necessary hardware to install. The fit and finish is amazing. They feel as good as the Benchmade G10 scales at a fraction of the price. I've now installed two sets of these and the improvement over the stock Grivory scales is amazing. It's hard to believe it's the same knife. They make the Griptilian feel so much more solid. After installation, the blade was perfectly centered and could easily be adjusted to drop shut.

I bought this griptilian at least 5 years ago. I didn't like the tan color scales but at $90s for a new Benchmade it was a bargain. I am still using my 440c griptilian from more than 15 years ago. So when I saw these scales at only at mid $20s I figured is worth checking out. The fit and finish is spot on and looks pretty good after the switch. If I only knew it would work out so well I would have purchase better hardware (screws & standons). Maybe another day. The blade is center and action is also great. I hope this helps other people shopping here on Amazon.

Scales very slick. Alignment was an issue and back spacers hit knife liner. Biggest problem these have is there are no inserts for a pocket clip but the pictures clearly show threaded inserts to attach a pocket clip. Very disappointed with the fit and finish and not as depicted in pictures. Would not recommend or purchase again. Next time I will just spend the extra money for a more quality product

Much better quality grip over factory plastic. Only had to reuse 2 original screws, all others were new. Much better looking than the ad. I really like the quality but they are a little smooth in the hand. Would definitely buy again!

These are good scales for the money. Especially if you want to try scales before buying more expensive options. My experience is positive. All hardware was included. Only needed to reuse a couple oem bolts for the scales and 3 for the clip. I watched a couple "youtube" videos on disassembly and off I went.The Good:Disassembly/reassembly is easy and straightforward. Just remember to stick a dowel or something similar in the pivot hole so you keep everything aligned and don't lose the washers. The look of these scales are excellent. Look way better than the OEM nylon scales. Fit and finish is excellent as well. No misaligned holes or anything like that. Really gives this knife a more expensive feel and look to it.The Could Be Better:These scales are a bit slick since there's really no texture to these when compared to the OEM scales. I personally like them this way. Gives them a cleaner look IMO.The Micarta itself could be a little more aggressive which would solve them being too slick sided.And really these are my only concerns people may have.Regarding them being a little slick this doesn't effect my grip when using this knife and I EDC this and use on a daily basis at work.All in all I'm satisfied for the price I paid and when it's time to upgrade I may go with a more expensive scale knowing now how easy it is to swap them out. But for the time being I don't see a reason to since these really look great!
