I did a lot of research on travel rods and couldn’t find exactly what I wanted. I stumbled on this rod on Amazon and it immediately checked the boxes I needed for float plane travel into 🇨🇦. It is two rods a M/H and a M/L with a small profile and is of excellent construction. It looks like this is mainly sold overseas which is a shame after using it and others seeing it they fell in love too. I can’t believe I bought a rod with out feeing it first but this rod really is amazing.

Purchased this travel rod with high hope of good performance. Took it on my trip to Hawaii to do some fishing around the islands. Rigged the rod up in the 8' 3" configuration with a Shimano stradic CI4+ with 20 lb braid and tied on a 1/4 oz ball jig with a 4" swimbait. On the very first cast the rod snapped in half at the 3rd section of the rod below the joint. This section is the piece you would add additional sections to make it 8' 3" or 6' 7" so having the rod break here made it useless. Word of advice: try any rod out before you take it on vacation to make sure it performs well and what happen to me doesn't happen to you. I probably got a bad one and it probably was never tested before it left the factory. I was able to get a refund from Amazon and the vendor. I do like Shimano rods but this was a total failure for me.

I travel to Hawaii 3 times a year with this. The 3000 Sedona reel is perfect and so much fun Reef/ shore fish with 1/2 -3/4 oz kastmasters!
