Orbit 94143 Automatic Garden Watering Tap Timer Kit (Buddy Programming)

This bit of kit just plugs in and works. Even the bracing bar works better than I thought it would. Great design, although the programming is a bit naff.It works though but could be more flexible and intuitive.

I bought this package back in November 2015 and it's now well into its fourth year of operation. No problems encountered - highly reliable. However, it only cost me £69 back then, not the £129 currently charged!! Also, I bought two additional valves at about £10.50 each - they are now nearly £33 each!! So I couldn't recommend this system at the vastly inflated prices of today. Only down side is that the thread that attaches to your outside tap is of poor quality metal that totally rusted on and would require a lot of work to release. The grip feature around the screw thread to attach to the tap is totally useless and merely slips round. Recommend thinking carefully about rust prevention for this particular feature. Also, as long as you remove valves and control unit before any frosts then it should last for many years. Control unit is totally waterproof (or at least mine is). You can leave the manifold attached over winter as long as you drain it of water and leave the taps open. I live in SE England, so winters are relatively mild, but it has survived a few nights of seriously low temperatures and heavy frosts over the four years without a problem (as long as you do the above!)

easy to set-up, instructions are okay but do need to be read. this has worked brilliantly, when it hasn't rained so not been used often yet.one thing to remember you can adust the flow through each controller if your using sprinklers rather than drip feeders or soaker hoses.brilliant kit.

One of the manifold taps broke after a few months, but the seller replaced the product with no fuss.

Works well and reliably. stands quite a bit out from the tap. If it was angled slightly it wouldn't do this. The valves are weak ( can be stripped if pushed in the other direction ) . Other than that I cannot fault it and its kept doing its thing.

As mentioned elsewhere, it turns out that the programming is rather basic. You can set up to 3 different start times, and different durations for each outlet used, but that’s as far as it goes - at each set start time, the unit cycles through all outlets, one after the other. Its not possible for example, to miss one outlet out from a particular cycle, or have different durations.Shame really as its a very nicely made unit
