Great lens, highly recommended
Amazing bokeh, fits my Sony fx30 easily. Lens is sharp around t2 & wonderfully cinematic all the way open. Great manual functionality, amazing value for your money.

Embrace the flaws
Okay, this is a very specific lens and I recommend doing your research before you buy it. The DOF is shallow for a reason because (i think) it was made to be used wide open. Buy a ND filter or two to help with overexposure - this lens has a style all its own. I know that sounds so corny, but this isn’t a typical lens. You have to watch the focus and know exactly what you want it to do, knowing it won’t be perfect - enjoy those flaws, truthfully I believe it will make you a better filmmaker. I love this lens, the metal body, the endless focus ring and the t-stop of 1.05 is wonderful. Most of my prime lens zoom in slightly when I focus, this one doesn’t, because it’s made for movies. It will take practice and patience to handle it correctly, but I’m up for the challenge, are you?

Faulty product. No response from 7artisans
I love the lens but about 2 months into owning the lens, the lens body started to become loose and is progressively getting worse. The separation between the aperture ring and focus ring has come to make this lens unusable. The focus ring is no longer smooth, and the frame gets quite blurry. I cannot even use the lens. I have sent 7artisans multiple emails with no response. I am basically at a $500 loss here….. Amazons return policy is only good for a month after purchase. This faulty product issue that was not my doing did not even happen until 2 months after purchase so I missed that window as well. I will change that review to 5 Stars if you can please help me resolve this issue. I love the lens itself, but this problem has exceeded anything else.

BLOWN AWAY
It’s so dynamic (and not just for videos) but for PICTURES TOO!! I’m in awe and now a loyal supporter of this brand.

Powerhouse lens
The 7Artisans 50mm Vision is a solid brick of a APS-C /crop sensor lens that can shoot at a ridiculous T 1.05 aperture when wide open. Want a micro-thin focal plane? This can do it. It can ALSO shoot very utilitarian footage when stopped down.

Not for full frame not 2day shipping it is 3week shipping
Great lens but so help me it said it was for sony a7 full frame camera and it is not. Plus shipping was a freaking nightmare!!!!!! Bought a second one because first one was considered lost in transit. Took nearly a month to get it despite being told it was 2nd day shipping on Amazon Prime.

Beware!!
Had high hopes for this lens but after receiving it and mounting on my Blackmagic camera the fit was atrocious, sloppy and loose! I immediately contacted 7Artisans Customer service to see if there was an issue with the M4/3 mounts, 24 hours later received a automated response "Please ask customer service in the official Amazon store and they will solve the problem for you". After reading other reviews it seems others have had the same problem, and zero customer service from 7Artisans!! Packed it up and returned and now the wait to see how long it will take to receive my refund. Will never buy an item again from Amazon that is not covered by Amazon Prime!!

I recently purchased the 7artisans 35mm T1.05 Vision Cine Lens for my Canon EOS R5, and after a few days of testing it for video and some stills, here’s my take. As a content creator focusing on YouTube videos and photography, I was looking for an affordable cine lens with a fast aperture, and this lens delivers in many ways, though it’s not without quirks.Pros: Incredible Low-Light Performance: The T1.05 aperture is a game-changer for shooting in low-light conditions. I’ve filmed indoor scenes and evening shots with minimal noise, even at higher ISOs on my R5. The shallow depth of field creates a creamy, cinematic bokeh that makes my footage pop, especially for portraits and talking-head videos. Solid Build Quality: The all-metal construction feels robust and premium, which is impressive for a $499 lens. It’s a bit heavy (around 753g), but it balances well on my R5, especially with a SmallRig cage and accessories I already own. The focus and aperture rings are smooth, with a 270° focus throw that’s precise for manual focus pulls—perfect for video work with my follow focus setup. Cinematic Features: The de-clicked aperture ring is silky smooth, making exposure adjustments seamless during video recording. The 0.8 MOD gears integrate well with standard cine accessories, and the 82mm filter thread is convenient for my existing ND filters. Versatile for Creative Shots: The 35mm focal length (about 56mm equivalent in APS-C crop mode on the R5) is great for medium close-ups and conversational scenes. I’ve used it for vlogging and product shots, and the minimal focus breathing keeps the framing steady during focus pulls. Affordable Price: For a cine lens with these specs, $499 is a steal compared to pricier options like Canon’s RF cine lenses. It’s a great entry point for indie filmmakers or creators on a budget. Cons: APS-C Coverage Limitation: This is my biggest gripe. The lens is designed for APS-C sensors, so on my full-frame R5, I have to use crop mode to avoid vignetting, which reduces the sensor’s resolution and gives a slightly tighter field of view (around 56mm equivalent). I knew this going in, but it’s worth noting for others with full-frame cameras like the R5 or R6. If you want full-frame coverage, you might need to look at 7artisans’ Spectrum series instead. Corner Softness Wide Open: At T1.05, the center is sharp, but the corners can be a bit soft, especially in stills. It’s less noticeable in video, but for photography, stopping down to T2 or T2.8 improves edge-to-edge sharpness. Manual Focus Only: This isn’t a dealbreaker for cine lenses, but it takes practice to nail focus, especially at T1.05 where the depth of field is razor-thin. If you’re not used to manual focus, expect a learning curve. Slightly Heavy for Run-and-Gun: At 753g, it’s not the lightest lens for handheld vlogging or long shoots without a gimbal. I paired it with my Zhiyun Crane 2 (which handles the weight fine, as it’s under the 7 lbs limit), but for casual shooting, it can feel bulky. Overall Thoughts: For the price, the 7artisans 35mm T1.05 Vision Cine Lens is a fantastic value for video creators and photographers who want a cinematic look without breaking the bank. It’s sharp, produces beautiful bokeh, and feels like a professional tool, especially for low-light scenes and controlled shoots. However, the APS-C limitation means full-frame users like me need to work in crop mode, which might not suit everyone. If you’re shooting with an APS-C camera like the Canon R7 or don’t mind the crop on a full-frame body, this lens is a solid choice. I’ve enjoyed using it for my YouTube videos, and it’s become a go-to for creative projects. Just be ready to embrace manual focus and plan around the crop factor!

Unfortunately, although there are more t-stops on this lens, the lens caused major vignetting on 6kff camera and was ultimately unusable for us. Had to return. Return seems to be taking longer than usual, not very good. Reasonably priced lens, if it fits your cameras sensor and has no vignette it should work fine. Just want my money back because I bought different 7Artisans lens that is more appropriate/works better with my camera. Taking way too long at this point, not sure what is wrong here.
