Cable issue at the DIN plug end.
Unfortunately, the picture was yellow. When moving the cable near the console it very rarely became perfect until I released it and then yellow again. I threw the cable away after examining it closely as it appeared the lose connection was in the DIN (round) plug end. No external damage was seen on the outside. For now I have cut open my aerial connection and am using composite from splicing. For £5, I don't see it nessesary to jump through any hoops to get a replacement, and this review should serve as an honest write up of my experience. I just hope other cables are not as bad.On examining the rest of the cable and looking at the scart end, it was wired up properly and seemed very good for £5.Shame the end which plugged into the megadrive was faulty.

I don't believe it!
I should of got this years ago. I've always used my Mega Drive with the default RF/aerial) adaptor, not knowing a scart cable could be used. It wasn't until I had the urge for retro gaming, it soon dawned on me that the quality on my HD TV was poor. The image was blurred and the colours were merging into each other. So after a bit of research, I got this and...WOW!!!!The clarity has vastly improved and the colours are vivid. If you have a HD TV with scart sockets in the back, this is worth the price. (If you just have HDMI sockets, you can get scart converters.)

sound is not great, you would need to buy a better set ...
Picture so-so, sound is not great, you would need to buy a better set of cables for new hdtv with scart, its a better picture than normal leads, but not great, a good set of scart cables is about £17 these are cheap ones, i will use this until i get a better set & keep these for spares.

Does the job but does not filter out composite video
Works as intended and picture quality is far superior to RF although if you’re looking for the best possible picture it’s better to purchase an RGB scart that filters out the composite video. Look for CSYNC RGB scart cables

Works perfect for great RGB out
I got this to work with my PC engine RGB adaptor. Worked perfect and much cheaper than others I have seen. Should work with anything that has the smaller Genesis/Megadrive 2 style RGB port.Gives a great signal to my Sony TV I ahve it connected up to, strong solid colour. Would recommend it for commencing compatible classic consoles up to your TV.

Did the job perfectly!
I've got the original lead along with the AV lead but they didn't do much for the picture at all on these new tvs nowadays. Then I got this and the picture is as good as I can get it!Recommended for anyone having trouble getting a decent picture on their old Mega drive on a new tv!! Worked for me anyway!

Great product low cost
For the price this cable is great. No foil screening I can see but I opened it up and everything is wired correctly. I modified mine and added a 470ohm resistor and 220uf 16v Capacitor in series to the sync cable on pin 20 of the scart header. This correctly attenuates the sync especially useful with scalers. - 1 star for no screening but I haven't had any interference and get a lovely crisp sharp vibrant picture. Great product for the low cost.

Brilliant replacement RF unit
An excellent bit of kit that replaced my original RF unit (which can sometimes be faulty in old consoles). I'm now enjoying hours of fun reliving my childhood gaming experiences!
