I bought this hoping it would help with the noise when drying my hair. The problem is that although it does cut the noise down, in my view it is completely useless as it keeps dropping off the hair dryer when in use and more often than not you spend more time picking it up than drying your hair. This product is very badly designed and is very annoying.I have used this and got the hang of it and now fits as it should, I apologise to all who read my earlier review as I think I needed to apply a bit more pressure when snapping it on to the hairdryer and I am glad I managed to get it to stay on.

Disappointed, Parlux is a great brand for professional hairdressers. It is however on the noisy side. I thought the silencer would be great but made little to no difference. Bulky, not a great addition needs to be redesigned imo.

I bought this for my business as moaning neighbours, so I use this with my hair dryer, it does help a little with noise but not as much as I would have liked, but still better to use with it on .

Firstly, as a company I recommend Parlux as their customer service is excellent. However, I don't feel that I have hugely benefited from this product. But, maybe that is because I am using it in a home environment not a salon. Being a kind mother, I decided that when I get up first thing in the morning and my son is on a late shift, I would try and make my Parlux 385 Light less noisy, hence ordering the Melody silencer.But, for me the difference in noise reduction is minimal. Don't get me wrong, there is a small reduction, but not anything major, not anything that makes this product a good buy for those using Parlux at home. I can see if you had a salon with more than one hairdryer going at once, if they all had these fitted it may make a difference to the noise levels in the salon.As a positive, this makes hardly any difference weight wise to the dryer and does clip securly on the end over the filter. Be aware though, you need to ensure you have the filter on the end of the dryer as this is what secures it, otherwise it just keeps dropping off. I had to arrange a replacement filter, as mine fell off and ended up in the bin and the silencer arrived before the filter, so I speak from personal experience when I say without that it just falls off all the time.So, personally if you are a home user, I don't feel this would bring you a huge benefit, save your money. Salon owner, maybe this would make a difference to you.

Been deliberating whether to buy one of these for quite a time. I finally bit the bullet and purchased one. If you are looking for the silencer to remove a lot of noise from your hairdryer than this is not for you. It takes the sound tone of the back of the dryer down to a much more bearable level, however it still omits quite a noise. It fits nicely on my Parlux dryer and stays firmly on. I like the fact that it protects the back of the dryer from hair accidentally getting sucked into it.
