Is this lens compatible with body Nikon D5200?

You can use this lens on D5200, but I would not recommend it since on an APS-C body, the lens becomes 36-105 equivalent losing all the wide angle portion. Plus it is big, heavy and expansive lense. I would recommend Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-NIKKOR 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED (roughly 24-70 equivalent), which designed for APS-c body. That being said, if you have the plan to migrate to full-frame body. You can buy this lens, but I still recommend something else: Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 Lens for Nikon F, with half the price, you get pretty much same image quality. Hi, can any one recommend this 2.8E or 2.8G version if the cost is not too much concern?

The Nikon 24-70 2.8 ED VR is super sharp and fantastic. The new VR version is superior and worth the additional $ in my opinion. I highly. Recommend it.

The VR version (vibration reduction) allows the photographer to shoot more pictures in a hand held mode rather than a tripod. Especially good for sports and wildlife photography.
