Yes it does unscrew. I highly recommend this tool.

Q: can I get a new charging cable /battery charger for WX 252

If you search for "WX 252 charger" on Amazon you'll get some options, but they are extortionately priced I'm afraid...a generic 6V or adjustable charger should do the trick, however, I do try and stick to the original as far as reasonably practicable

Q: Apologies if the answer to this is obvious, but is it only a screwdriver or can I use it to drill a hole in the wall?

It is only a handy screw driver and does not have power to drill wall. Thank you.

Q: How long does the battery last for?

This was a gift for someone but if your just doing local D.I.Y around the house it should be ok for around 30 mins or so.. I would say not suitable for heavy duty work though.... door handles/cupboard hinges etc should be fine
