Cthulhu Fluxx Single Deck Card Game

My third pack of Fluxx. Many rules to remember than the other fluxx packs I’ve played, love it! Not ideal if your new to the fluxx card games, but awesome if you want a more complicated and seemingly random game, with the added un-goal cards to end the game without a winner

I hate card games. I really, really can’t stand them. I always forget the rules, poker face is just a song for me, and I wouldn’t be able to play strategically if my life depended on it. BUT THIS GAME IS AMAZING. The rules are always on the table, and if there’s something you don’t understand, you can all just say “sod it” and play however you like. You can use some strategy, but even if it works, it doesn’t mean you win for sure. You can draw a card and win in an instant. And if you screw something up by accident or on purpose but get away with it...? Whatever, still works! This card game is the best. It’s hilarious, unpredictable, and it guarantees you will have amazing time with your friends and family!

I bought this game to take away on a trip and it kept us entertained for sure! It's an extremely simple concept (building up the rules as the game progresses) but because of that it has a very short learning curve and so it can be enjoyed right away. As with most gmes it's more fun the more players you have but we found it great fun with just two of us. If you're not a fan of HP Lovecraft / Cthuluh mythology then you might be better off with one of the other Fluxx games (as the cards probably won't make much sense) but it's definitely a game to have in your collection!

Not as good as the other versions in the Fluxx series (which I love): the card rules are pretty hard to follow, they make a number of assumptions and have a few game mechanics that are not mentioned anywhere but on the cards (such as the 'doom clock' mechanism), subsequently you can only really learn these and know what to do having studied all the cards in detail before playing. Having said that, once you get the hang of it it's a good game but for those totally unfamiliar with "the Mythos" it is pretty confusing so I would not recommend this as your first experience into Fluxx

I adore Fluxx - this is my third box just so I have different versions. It’s an easy to learn game and can be short or long. It’s never the same and it’s an awful lot of fun. I can’t wait to get more Looney Labs games because they’re incredibly innovative and different to any I’ve played before.

Cthulhu Fluxx is, as you may have guessed, the Lovecraft Mythos rendering of Fluxx, and it's a mythos that lends itself very well to this game - you may end up going mad like most of H.P.s protagonists with this deck. I had bought it initially just to try Fluxx and as I enjoy the work of HPL this seemed the deck to start with. I very quickly found that my nephew loved how the rules and end-goals kept changing, and that with a turn of a card he could block his old uncle from saving the world, and instead plunge us all into darkness with no-one winning. And for all that, even the times everyone loses, it's still a very fun game. Highly recommended.

Fantastic game and i love the theme!! i use to play fluxx with friends when i was in collage when i was 16, now im teaching it to my friends in starbucks for a laugh 19 years on. a game can take 5 mins to an hour depending on the luck of the cards but its allways differant and a great laugh

More to do and complicated than regular fluxx which for me was bonus as regular fluxx gets bit boring. Love the lovecraft themes, great for evening games, horror aficionados should own this.

The best card game is the Fluxx. Cthulhu Fluxx is another level! Wow !

Lo compré buscando un juego dinámico y con mucha rejugabilidad, al principio cuesta un poco de trabajo entender al 100% las reglas sin embargo una vez que se comprenden y se aplican se vuelve bastante divertido. La gran ventaja es que nunca es igual y las reglas cambian constantemente, se pueden generar estrategias sin embargo no siempre las podrán usar, lo recomiendo al 100% y no dudaré en comprar otras versiones o bien sus expansiones.

I had zombie fluxx before this one. This has a new dynamic and makes the game end quicker. Love the HP Lovecraft vibe and theme. Great game if you like Fluxx.

Es perfecto, las ilustraciones son una pasada y el juego en si es muy divertido, encima practico inglés! Muy recomendable.

As someone who had never heard of or played Fluxx before, I wasn't sure which version I should go with when I came across these games. I chose the Cthulhu version after reading the reviews, and I'm glad I did. The game is very simple and easy to pick up right out of the box, after just a quick scan of the instructions. However, despite it's beginner-friendly set up, there can be a deep degree of strategizing once you get the hang of it. At the same time, the deck is constructed so that chaos reigns at any given time. The entire game can be flipped on it's head with a well-placed Action card, and someone can sneak in a win out of nowhere by changing a Rule card, or swapping out the Goal/Ungoal. The game is very interesting, and this seems to be a good version to grab for people who have never heard of Fluxx before. It works fantastically with just two people, and just gets more fun and chaotic as you add players. I will be checking out the other versions available. If you're considering getting this game, definitely go for it. You won't be disappointed. Great family fun.
