Not Safe - caused water issue in my tank
I am sad to say that I disagree with the other reviews. I have had my tank for over 2 years and always used the original biorb filters. To save money I decided to try these ones. I am so sorry that I did. Within a month of using these filters, my water ammonia level increased suddenly and PH too. One of my fish who showed no signs of previous illness, suddenly died. I am very sad and angry at myself for buying these filters now, which I am blaming for the change in quality of the water. What else could it be? I have had no issues in 2 years with my water quality (regular monthly testing), no change in fish, nothing else added - the only change was to start using these filters, so it must be them which have caused the water quality to suddenly deteriorate and kill one of my fish. I have gone back to the original biorb now and have tested my water each week - everything is stable again thankfully. If you intend using these, I would strongly recommend you buy the full water testing kits and keep an eye on the water quality weekly or daily.

Perfect
Found these to be a great replacement for the official Biorb filters. The charcoal sponge is so much neater than the loose charcoal granules. Been using this product for four months now... No problems with water clarity.

better than biorb's set
much better (and cheaper) alternative to the biorb set. this is two sponges and the slot into the exisiting setup with no issues. tank is clean and clear and the water is fine. cant ask for more really!

Ok - but wouldnt pick again over the proper biorb filters

Offbrand biorb filters
Would not recommend these filters. Put them in my biorb halo 60L and within a few days, there was algae everywhere. Not happy with my purchase. Don’t skimp on the price and buy authentic filters.

Have been using these for quite a while and find them ideal when changed monthly with water change two weekly between.
