No jams and fantastic time-saving performance
There's lots to like about this Hatachi gun and much to love. I've used a 16-gauge P-Load for many years and got sick and tired of the occasional jamming, noise and expensive gas canisters (if opened, go bad within a few months.)This Hatachi 15-gauge is easy to operate and I've yet to experience a single jam after several hundred shots. It's relatively quiet and smooth. It has a bounce feature that works very well but I generally use it single-fire.I've read reviews complaining about the weight, but find it easy to hold and no heavier than a P-Load. I've used the gun for several hours a day for over a week and have no problem with the wight. The gun has loads of well thought out safety features that don't get in the way of its operation. The main part of the gun is offset at an angle to the magazine (probably due to engineering design considerations.) I thought this might be a problem for straight aiming, but I'm happy to say that I find no problem aiming and shooting nails straight. In fact, after a few minutes use I didn't even notice the angle offset.I've read other reviews (and seen video) of a small spark occurring when a nail is shot. I also observed this, so caution should be used around volatile flammables. The ammo for the Hitachi is not exactly cheap, but I don't mind the expense due to its fantastic time-saving performance. The belt hook is on the wrong side if you are a rightly, and there's no way to change it. This is a minor annoyance if you use a belt hook, since hooking it on your right side makes the gun hang backwards - forcing you to twist your hand to grab it. Probably another design compromise, but one I can live with. All in all, this is one fantastic tool and easily worth it's high initial price.

Great tool, but needs 2 batteries in the kit!
Bought this nail gun 9 months ago, use it constantly and have only minor complaints. It is a tad heavy, but i will put up with that cause it's lighter than a gun, compressor & hose. Shoots & sets a 2 1/2" nail in every type of wood species so far...plenty of guts and no wind up time like the Dewalt. 3 ah battery seems to last forever on a full charge. The biggest gripe I have isn't with the gun. It's with the battery that comes with the gun. There should be two batteries in the kit for the price paid. It's nice having the extra one charged & ready to go so I don't have any downtime on the job. Had to buy an extra one for an additional $60. Hence the 4 star rating.Highly recommend!

So far I'm loving this gun
I've run a few hundred shot of 2 1/2" galv and bright finish nails through this gun so far and every shot has been perfect. I just trimmed out an entire 3 story new home and two full replacement window jobs and this gun has been great. There's a time and a place for each type of gun, pneumatic or cordless, and I'm sure that I'll always have a compressor set up for the bigger jobs but this Hitachi has impressed me so far and I don't see anything that tells it won't continue to do so for a long time to come. It has a really good feel, I don't mind the weight it's not that heavy. It shoots the nails in below the woods surface unless i'm in a tough toe nail situation but even my air nailers will leave a nail proud here and there. Battery runs basically all day so no issue there and operating it is easy and makes sense with the buttons and the depth adjustment. I like pretty much everything about it. great price for this kit here on Amazon and a lifetime limited warranty made this a no brainer. Hitachi is a name that can be trusted. I've been using their guns for years and never had issues with them, although mostly framers and roofers I do use their angled finish nailer quite a bit and have a lot of respect for it. This keeping in mind that I'm a Bostitch guy. The Hitachi's still always come out on the site and that's always been fine by me.EDIT 1/7/2018;At this point I've run 2 1/2 boxes of nails through this puppy and it's been flawless (various sizes also). The biggest problem I have in a normal day is one of the guys will grab it and I have to figure out where it is. That says everything about this gun. I have yet to put it up against a task that it hasn't handled well. It's cold up here north of Boston so I'm getting a good idea of how the batteries respond to the temps, meaning this kit is in my van overnight and everything is cold in the morning. Once it's inside and warming up everything seems fine. The charger and batteries do exactly as stated in the user manual. It's a bit different than other brands of cordless tools that I own and use only in the way it operates to charge but after a couple cycles I had a handle on it and having the 2 batteries I this kit makes it a non issue. They still run most of the day each and that's under constant use. I like this gun enough that I'm going to get my hands on one of the framers and put it to work. If it's anything like this it'll be nice not being tethered to an air line when I'm climbing around the tough spots of a house frame, can't wait to try.One reviewer mentioned how easy the soft foot comes off the bail and he's right to mention it. I've also lost one off the pin that it stores on so I keep them in the bag until I pull the gun out. I should also mention it wasn't actually me that lost it but one of the guys I work with not paying attention, typical.... So, every brand of nailer I've owned and/or used has eventually had the soft foot loosen up and slip off. I always buy extra's knowing they'll eventually wear out or get lost and they do help with not denting the workpiece with the metal bail. I put a dab of Gorilla glue inside the front of the shoe and solved the issue. Let it sit overnight if you can. I've found that I wear them out before they fall off now.

JUNK!
I haven't used one strip of nails and this thing stopped working. I had my doubts when I initially bought this but was thinking with intended light use it would last a year or two. Today was literally the 1st time out on a job and pulled it out instead of dragging the compressor and lines to the 3rd floor of a clients house. Fired about 20-25 nails and it jammed and now nothing. Of course ita a month past return window so im out $200. NEVER AGAIN! DO NOT BUY THIS P. O. S.

Works but limited power.
Easy to use and mostly works well. However this is never going to drive 2 1/2" nails. I tried every setting and adjustment many times. Best I could get is 2" sometimes. Great for 1 1/2" or less. I wasted a whole box of 2 1/2" finish nails that I cant use. Finished my project with 1 1/2". Hope they not too short.

This gun is useless for hanging doors
I bought it for a large paint grade T&G ceiling. It worked well for that application. Occasionally I would get a nail that needed to be flushed out with a nail set, but wasn't an issue. Keep in mind that the gun only likes Hitachi nails. When using this gun for setting interior doors it consistantly didn't sink nail heads below the work surface when using 2.5" nails, sometimes as much as .75" I thought I might have received a dud so I returned it, with the same results.

The depth adjustment is a great feature. I was able to dial it back ...
Only used it on 2 jobs so far but it has performed well. The depth adjustment is a great feature. I was able to dial it back and used it to attach 3/4” rope to 2x4’s. Down-side it is a little heavy. Not had to use it but the jam-clear mechanism is really simple.
