You need this if you want to stay powered up
spending the extra money to get the DJI batter is well worth the money. I have two generic batteries the same size that are crap. So having this DJI battery was money well spent. Love this product should have purchased it months before i did.

Overpriced and got error "the battery is abnormal, please retry"
The battery life on this camera is not as good as it was claimed to be, so here I am looking to buy a new one that's crazy expensive and proprietary. I delay for nearly a year before I really need it due to losing opportunities because the battery is dying during the adventure. So I spring for the expensive battery and when it arrived I put it into my camera and immediately got the error "the battery is abnormal, please retry" which upon googling I got zero results. DJI should have a white paper documenting this error. I was about to return it, but thought to check for a camera firmware upgrade. Sure enough there was one, so I installed it and the error went away. Did I mention this battery is really expensive?
