Good if you are careful cutting.
I have a drain which is rectangular, non-standard in size and with awkward pipes feeding into it. This has covered it and stop leaves dropping in. I had one previously and made a mess of cutting it, so was careful this time to take my time, warm the plastic first, then cut carefully and slowly. It worked well.

I don't regret this purchase
I bought two covers as an experiment for one drain. They fit quite well side by side but not perfectly, and I cut a section out of one cover to allow room for the downpipe. There were no problems in cutting the plastic. They have the virtue of being inexpensive, but are perhaps flimsy. To what extent they will shift their position over time remains to be seen.

Easy to fit and works a treat
Bought these to replace a badly fitted flat sheet of metal that was over the drain for my dishwasher and sink. It regularly blocked up as leaves could still get in. I was a bit worried as most photos show a normal vertical pipe going down into them, but as you can see I have 2 pipes coming in from the side that were badly fitted by various gas men/plumbers. I dont have the know-how to re-route pipes so had to make do.I bought two incase I ruined the first or it snapped. It didn’t! The plastic is easily cutable, infact I started off with garden scissors and used a hacksaw for the curves. The cut edges are a bit shabby but seriously... who cares as long as the leaves stay out! I found this simple to do myself. If I can - anyone can!

Best drain cover I've seen.
Because I've got two pipes emptying into my outside sink I couldn't use a conventional drain cover which has the larger hole for a downpipe already cut. This one is completely closed in and you have to cut your own holes. My pipes are 40mm push fit so I used a 44mm hole saw to cut one hole in the top for the kitchen sink drain and one on the side for the drain from the washing machine. I pushed the pipes up from the underside and back into the wall fittings. That meant that the pipes are a snug fit in the holes and there's no gap at the back which could still let leaves blow into the drain. The low front part of the cover also makes it look quite neat and less bulky than the usual type of cover. There are clips supplied which can be screwed to the wall and rotated to hold the cover to the wall with tabs on the top corners but it hasn't been necessary to use these due to the way I've cut the holes. It's a little more expensive than a normal cover but as it's totally closed in I think it's worth it.
