58mm Bottomless Portafilter with Double Shot Filter Basket & Wood Handle for Gaggia Classic, Espresso Pure, Color, Dose, Evolution, Baby Twin and More Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine

Only had it for a short time but very happy with my choice so far. The quality seems to be spot on. It’s solid and the metal is very nicely finished. The fit is perfect on my gaggia classic pro evo machine. The only thing I noticed was at first the removable wood handle seemed to come loose easily but after I used it a few times it seems to have tightened up and is staying on nicely. It’s really beautiful and I’m getting good shots so far from it so as long as that continues then it’s a win for me! I feel the wood as it ages will only get even better looking. I’d say it’s a solid choice and recommend it.

Portafiller that was bottomless worked like a charm. I changed espresso machines and use a bottomless portafiller in my last machine and preferred it. This one is also a pleasure to use and improves espresso performance. bob

This is now my go to porta filter. It works great and fit my Breville Oracle Touch perfectly. It’s lightweight, easy to clean, the wooden handle is beautiful, and it creates a nice single stream double espresso every time. Its only flaw is that the handle can sometimes turn and become loose when extracting the used coffee puck. Extra tightening of the handle helps prevent this but it still occurs occasionally. A bit pricey but nicely executed design.

Tested In 2 different machines, slayer and Profitec e61 group heads. Leaks in both with a blind basket and a IMS precision basket and the ears don’t hold well. Pretty much a worthless piece of metal. spend your money on a nicer more precision portafilter and skip this garbage.

Received the bottomless portafilter today, the same day my Gaggia Classic Pro came in! It is a perfect fit and better looking in person than the pictures give it justice. I wanted a bottomless portafilter to help with tamping and to allow for better crema production, so I stepped out in a limb with this one.Feels good in the hand and I don’t see any issues with it’s sturdiness.Looking forward to many an espresso out of this and my new machine!

Great fit for my Breville 920XL, and I'm overall very happy with the purchase. The handle is nice real wood, looks great, and it feels solid and well made. A few things to note: 1) I decided to use the stock Breville 2 shot basket instead of this one. This basket has fewer filter openings and it taperes inward as it goes down. 2) the handle is not sealed well. Plan on sealing or finishing the wood somehow - I just used wood oil. 3) the handle can unscrew, so if you don't want it ever coming off on you, I'd recommend putting a little loctite on the threads.

I bought this to see what all the excitement was about, but now I’m not sure I’m a fan of naked portafilters. My first attempts resulted in extraction squirting in a couple different directions. I guess this means I’m a terrible barista.The basket supplied is awful. Hold it up to light and you’ll see the holes are not precise at all. This partly explains the extraction squirting in several directions. It’s priced right and that’s why I bought it. I’ll just use the Gaggia basket in it until I can justify buying a precision basket for more than I spent on this whole package.The skirt on this hangs lower than the basket, which gives you support for tamping, but it makes it very hard to see all the excitement underneath, you know, like in the videos, so I guess I need a mirror now.Lightweight, not much metal here so it warms up fast. In fact, since the extraction only touches the basket, there’s no need for a warmup at all. Genius!

One has to be careful to ensure that a portafilter actually does fit your coffee machine properly ... snug thread fit and no pressure leaks. Cheap ones are a lucky dip to fit or not. On the other hand, as advertised, this portafilter was a perfect fit to my Breville coffee machine, smooth good looking solid handle and it makes perfect double shot espresso !
