Harris Filters 24cm Vinpapers (Filter Papers)

The quality does seem to be changing. Over the years the filter papers have lost their embossed feature, which gave a greater surface area for filtering and became flat papers. Now the papers are marginally thicker and seem to filter slower.

After trying to filter my damson gin with little success, I turned to good old YouTube and found a video of how to flute the filter paper. This involves folding the paper to make a bigger surface area to pass through. Tried this and went through much faster.

Are used to filter sloe gin and jostaberry gin. It filter slowly but does the job. Filterpaper stay strong at the end for easy disposable without ripping.

As others have mentioned, these filters are pretty thick and your wine/cider/liqueur will take a long time to filter through. But with some patience, you will get a sparkling clear result.

These work really well especially for making sloe gin

I ordered this item to strain home made sloe gin but the filter papers were not suitable as the gin clogged the papers and then didn't strain the liquid. The product description was inaccurate and too generalised.I did request a refund as the item did not do what I bought it for but I had a telephone call from a pleasant man in customer service who talked a nice chat but did not actually do or offer anything. He did say the filters were not meant for Sloe gin and also acknowledged the description did not specify this. Don't waste your money on this product.
